Domestic Shipping within Thailand...moving from Chiang Mai to Pattaya

Featured Replies

I will be temporarily relocating from Chiang Mai to Pattaya for 3 months.  I will be flying by AirAsia.  I’m wondering if there is an economical alternative to bringing everything with me as checked baggage on the flight.

if I go with checked baggage, it would be 5 large duffle bags (estimate 200 kg) plus a 32 inch computer monitor (I have original shipping boxes).

Anyone have any experience or suggestion on alternative, economical shipping options?  I’m wondering since I get lots of stuff through Lazada shipped to me from Bangkok and shipping is always free so there must be a cheap way to do this.

Ask Kerry logistics for a quote, they are quite reasonable with their prices.

Just remember they have a weight limit per item of 25 kgs.

That’s funny; I was sitting on my deck and saw one of thier trucks drive by and was just about to check them out.  Thanks for the reply ?

Search this forum for "Chiang Mai Removals;" they have been highly recommended many times here. They helped me move (within Chiang Mai), and were great.

A Thai mate of mine gets M/Cycles sent up from Bangkok on Overnight buses. He says it's the cheapest way.

The BKK end strips the bikes, packages them and places them with the bus company. They place on overnight bus and he collects following morning at CM bus station.

Yes, the bus will take everything ( for a price, of course ), but you don't have enough to hire a moving company.

I'm surprised you don't take the bus anyway. It's just an overnight trip and you get to take everything with you.

You get to take everything with you?  There are no baggage limits?  I’m talking about roughly 100 kg.

You may try Nakornchai Air, it is a bus line, have their own terminal closed to the ordinary bus terminal, they go on a daily basis, you drop it evenings in Chiang Mai at their terminal, the next day morning it can be picked up in Pattaya.

weight limit is 50kg for one box if I remember right, you will get a receipt with pickup number when you drop your box and pay for it.

Very reliable and fast for a reasonable price, used them many times.

Given you can pay to send unaccompanied parcels bags etc on the bus, there should be no problem, though you may have to pay a bit extra. At most you might have to pay for an extra seat.

I suggest you go ask at Nakhon Chai Air bus service counter. I believe their terminal is at Arcade bus station.

Thanks guys for the heads-up on Nakhon Chai Air bus at Arcade.  Funny name for a bus company but sounds just like what I'm looking for.  Appreciate the help!
