I couldn't see the first video, saw parts of the second. I saw an old guy having a good time. How did this turn in 19 pages of scorn?  I got a kick out of watching parts of it. I'd rather party with this guy than most of the old farts on this website. ahahaaa

Go ahead and join him, he is in Pattaya .

Plenty of other guys like him there as well .

You could go and join him and have a good time as well .

Not what I would call a "good time" but, each to their own

They don't think they are 22, if they did they would be home driving a sports car. Isn't Trump 72? Didn't Supreme Court justice Douglas marry a 29-year-old woman when he was around 72? Appreciation of beauty doesn't fade. And what's with the ageism and sexism? Aren't women allowed to choose who they want to be with?

Yes and people can choose to be judgemental as well.

Freedom goes both ways.

pattaya still have a greater assortment of food than sticks will ever have,

condos/hotels/etc in pattaya default on civilized toilets, unlike the sticks,

pattaya is civilization + tropical temperature, and conveniently

is located at sea for more even temperature throughout the year

than the sticks or bkk will ever have.

i stopped having sex at age 40 but there's no way in hell i will live in the sticks,

and the incest going on there isnt even the biggest reason, the biggest reason

is lack of diverse food, lack of nice cranberry juice, lack of caviar,

lack of any resemblance of civilization

There's an inbetween there some place. Tried the sticks....I mean rice paddie sticks. Not real bad, but if you got the money why settle cause it's cheaper. Now Pattaya would get old as well....the traffic for one thing is mind numbing at times. I'm an hour away from Pattaya now, small town, has a few farang places. Just right for me. Funny thing is living in the sticks, going to Makro was easier. Went every week, now just every now and then. Depend more on the Markets for daily living.

Hahaha do your hookers get a choice do they. Fycks sake now your really extracting the urine in this fantasy.

I overheard a Phuket massage girl tell a French-Arab (by his accent) customer she might do what he wants for free if he wasn't so ugly! You never read anything about all the non-Japanese guys shot down in Rainbow 1, or late-night meeting places in Bangkok? Yes, they have a choice. No pimp enforcers, like wherever you are from. And I gave up that part of my life a few years ago. Now with a nice young lady, a businesswoman, and not anything to do with bars.

I have a feeling that she was just joking , that is the usual joke from massage girls , not to be taken seriously

Good to see an old codger fresh off the boat out doing what all of us retired expats are accused of doing -- i.e., being a sexpat and a dirty old man.  Maybe he'll find the meaning to life with a 20 year old Thai porn star who will rub his feet and take his money.  As long as he's happy -- good for him.
Living in the slow lane in rural Thailand with a Thai wife my own age and taking care of my extended family is more enjoyable imho.

I remember those "happy times"  (mixed in with some TIT shocks).   Guess i would be jealous of him if i had not been there/done that.    what caused me to move to the slow lane was not that i retired.  Just plain TIRED !

don't have to justify.......  different strokes for different folks.    Some have had enough in the fast lane,

others just not ready to change lanes.   And you are sure to get responses from some telling you how they look like Arnold and XXXX like Wilt.

Although I dont regard that kind of lifestyle as "life in the fast lane " , its more like a life *broken down on the hard shoulder , waiting for a mechanic to arrive* kind of lifestyle

there are many whose lives were/ are not the perfect and accident free ones .   my belief is that having a few accidents in life contribute to gaining the knowledge one needs to understand what is important or worthwhile......But, always have to understand that one shoe does not fit all.

with experience can come wisdom......................or NOT  ?

Your life, your rules. Some chaos is a necessary ingredient of freedom.

Freedom to who?

You just don't get it, do you? Those young 3rd world country girls are smart enough to realise an elderly farang is a much better bargain than a handsome young Thai who will drink, gamble and abuse them, not to mention literally leaving them holding the baby.

Again, 3rd world country have a problem giving young girls rights and choices, we take as granted (mote of us) where we come from. It doesnt give us the right to exploit them or what?

A guy I used to work with and retired about the same time started having marital issues and instead of coming here like I did he shot 2 of his daughters in the head then killed himself as well leaving a third daughter and the wife to deal with the aftermath. I don't know what he was thinking exactly but he obviously felt he had no choice and was trapped. He wasn't. Very sad.

Well, you think he would have bee better off in Thailand? I dont think so

72 and he can still do it? He's an old aged pensioners role model.

Just imagine a handsome, 25 year old with a body like Michael Angelos, David gets the cold shoulder from a 20 year old stunning bar girl When Grandad turns up.

Puts me off the scene. Sloppy seconds after Grandad. Being kissed after Grandad. Urgh!

I arrived at the same age. I think many of the oldies are jealous that they had 30 more years in a factory or likewise at that age.

I travelled world since young, and Asia since my 30ies, and it is a bit shocking to see people discover life so late, and of course most discover the bad pages to feel life. Sad

As one said before, life is more than shotting tequilla and ladies in need. Well, if that is what it takes to feel alive and seen, then go hard go long, or as long you can. But, when the dope is gone, most fall lower than where they started. Just a little hint to Ron, the illutions will fade.

To all the negative comments out there,

I am the Canadian friend, mentioned in the article, and that encouraged Ron to visit Thailand.

Ron has done alot of research on Thailand prior to this trip, with help from quite a few people, including myself.

Some of the comments on this article are completely ridiculous.

Judging someone from 2 videos is not a very accurate portrait of Ron.

He is  a very down-to-earth person, and a very intelligent individual.

Thank you to those that has wished him well on his endeavours.

This trip for Ron has warmed my heart to the fullest.

And,finally, dont worry,Ron will not go broke in Thailand,he is merely having the time of his life, while not losing his mind,as SOME OF YOU,might think.

Thats whats the problem with going viral on tv on youtube. You have to know it coming. Sorry to say, but at once public, you will always be remembered for what they see with their glasses on. Are we right to comment what we think, thats another question you maybe can answer. Im sure Ron have his time of his life, but still he choose to go public with his experiences, and also tell everybody should do as he do. Not everybody is ready for that, and in many cases it goes wrong. Everybody experiences rough times, and is Thailand the aswer to everybodys problems? Is this the kind of life for most people?

Which is exactly the point but some snooty know everythings don't get it.

So, stay in your conservative purgatory do nothing life till you die, or venture out and enjoy life and something different.

Good for him he won't go to his grave saying like many : I wish I would have done this or that.

Up to you.....
