Gate controller battery question(s)

Featured Replies

The standby battery for my gate controller (now dead) is a 12 V lead acid battery. Replacement batteries I have found so far are Lithium Ion. From what I understand the LIon battery needs a different charging system than the lead acid? If so, what to do? If no other option does a motorcycle battery make any sense? Thx

I got a new battery for my gate a couple of months ago,

at a shop called  Amorn, they sell all kinds of Chinese

made stuff, and have a selection of sealed lead /gel

batteries, the shop is in Chiang Mai,but I understand

they have branches around Thailand, try Google or

someone might post where you can find a branch in

Phuket,if they have one there .the battery is like a

motorcycle battery, but they have many sizes,,amps

watts etc.so take your old battery with you.

regards worgeordie

To add to the above NPE (specifically at Zeer Rangsit but there are other locations) have a large selection of sealed lead-acid batteries.

What's the part number of your existing one, or post a photo?

A. - Remove the battery and take it to a battery shop or Amorn as a sample. They are the shops in Phuket Town and elsewhere with GS signs outside.

B. Post a picture of said battery and we can advise.
