Calling all Phuket wine lovers.

I manage to buy some of my wine through a wholesaler here and of course it is below retail price and sometimes the special offers are much more so.

I have asked if I may share my good fortune with others and they have no problem with this, so I am willing to put interested parties in touch so they can view the wine list and order direct from the wholesaler. I will not be involved in any way.

There are a couple of provisos inasmuch as there is a minimum order of 12 bottles and cash on delivery.

If anyone is interested then send me a PM.

PM sent, cheers for the heads up

Found this article an interesting read the other day.  Explains a lot about the wine stock levels in Phuket since late March

Thanks for that...……...good info on the fruit wine scene, although the fruit he mentions would seem to be that added to the white wines, whereas juice from "red fruit" has also been mentioned by other writers.

Seems like the price increases on these "wines" will bring them somewhere near the real stuff, so why drink it?

The Tescos World of Wines Shiraz at 349 baht a bottle is much better drinking!

For those people interested, just a thought on the wine list that I have sent to a few interested folks.............

It may well be that some folks just buy wine by the bottle from wherever, whenever they want to enjoy wine, and that 12 bottles at a time might seem a bit much, so consider doing what a friend has done and get a little group of close friends together and split the order when it arrives.

I order a few cases for myself and a friend, but I know that if I have it hanging around the apartment, I am tempted to drink it at a much faster rate, which unfortunately I do, so some of it goes to him, for which he is very grateful and it helps save my liver (I think).

Must admit, for my end of day cheap quaffable, I am missing the 3 litre Fleur De Galetis Rose box. Needed to be well chilled, but it was always a good sundowner on a hot afternoon with friends.
Was 799 baht previously at Tesco, but only 719 baht at Supercheap.  Totally disappeared late March.

xylophone, noted on the bulk order for bottles - agreed its good to split if a case seems too much for the solitary drinker.

But its also good to have a stock on hand for the regular holidays where alcohol isn't on sale.  Nice to be able to pull a bottle out if I've been away and didn't know there was a gazetted no-sale day on hand!
