Water cut-off a threat to patients, says Mae Sot Hospital

By The Nation

Mae Sot Hospital has called on the Mae Sot Waterworks office to urgently resume water supply to the facility for fear that life-saving operations and treatments would be affected.

Mae Sot Hospital director Thawatchai Setsuppana made an urgent Facebook post on Tuesday, addressed to the waterworks office, that the hospital only had enough water storage for a few hours of operations.

In the post, Thawatchai said surgery and kidney dialysis treatments might have to be halted later in the day if the water supply did not resume soon.

He said if tap water service did not resume, the waterworks office should immediately supply clean water to the hospital.

The Mae Sot Waterworks office announced on Monday that it had to suspend the tap water service because its water pumps at the Tambon Sai Luad water distribution station were out of order.

Well, the submarines don't come cheap so there were cuts to be expected elsewhere ...........

And as the subs are not operating in Mae Sot but in the halls of the present government buildings - go figure!

Are they actually using the local water supply for such things, Thais only use it for washing.

One would presume they would have a backup supply that is continously treated
