Police and officials of the Industrial Works Department raided an illegal electronic trash separation plant in Lam Lookka district of Pathum Thani on Friday.

Led by Pol Gen Veerachai Songmetta, the national deputy police chief, the officials searched the compound of Jongsing Company’s trash separation factory in Klong 8 and found many big bags containing electronic trash mostly computer parts.

An examination of the firm’s license showed that the company has a license to separate general trash and not electronic trash which is regarded as a violation of the law, said Pol Gen Veerachai, adding that the proprietor of the facility is liable to two-year imprisonment and/or a fine of 200,000 baht.

Chuck it in the sea and feed the hungry whales is the next solution.

Only another week to go with this particular crackdown, then as soon as it's out of the press spotlight it will sadly be back to carrying on with the e-trash processing.
