Video: How some people live - apartment owner's shock at trash filled room in Khon Kaen

A video showed the state of a downtown Khon Kaen apartment of a young Thai woman behind on the rent.

The woman had given excuses about not keeping up with the rent on her year long contract.

She said her grandmother was sick.

She was two months behind on the payments by now.

The apartment owner decided to take a look and found a mountain of trash. There were even coins scattered on the bed.

In the bathroom there were tissues and sanitary towels that were stinking the place out.

There were no lights in the main part of the room - the owner said that the woman had not told her about that.

But she is set to be given another chance, reported Sanook.

However, any more late payment and she will be out on her ear!

I hope they are not among those outraged netizen who complained about possible bacteria on a schools football field.

I have seen things like this in the west, and even worse.

when i first met my wifes family.. we pulled up the driveway.  litter was everywhere.  when entering the home.  flies  swarmed by the thousands. upon entering the kitchen, red and black ants were marching down the walls onto the dining room table onto the food they were eating. the family of my wifes sisters and kids and her parents seemed oblivious to it all.

once i took over the home and remodeled it. all the family refused to go into the house. preferring instead to open a small kitchen outdoors in the rear of the home.

My take on all this is that noone really cares about where the trash is left.  they only clean when absolutely necessary.  when told to do it.. and even then it is substandard to say the least.

Many aspects of thais daily life and how they work can be seen to reflect this.

fortunately, my wife did not follow this pattern.

I agree, seen this too and worse as health worker in Manchester UK and country areas in Australia. The smell never leaves you.

Had a tenant do worse to my rental in San Diego besides the filth when she stole the washer and dryer she let the house flood 40,000 dollars damage took the pig to court judge said I couldn’t prove she did it my insurance only covered 12,000 good thing I’m handy all in order now what a nightmare

My wife must hold the national record for the least amount of time it takes to turn the house into a shit'ole!

But, after seeing that video, I think I'll hang-on to her.
