Or if you are really bored digging out the oldest still open threads on the forum as a whole could be really excruciating.

So what?

If they have been recently updated does that not indicate that they are now relevant to whoever updated them.

What is your point?

What do you want done?

Got to be careful there - I got abused once here because I started a new thread on a topic that had already existed 9 months before. There's a reason the CM forum struggles to attract new members.

Depends on the topic?  Sometimes it's stupid to start a new thread (why another thread about where to get the best burgers, <deleted>?) but sometimes it's stupid to resurrect an old one (someone posted ten years ago about what burgers are made of, and someone drags it up again to ask where are the best burgers, or someone posted about "which is the best burger joint on X street in Chiang Mai" and someone resurrects it to ask what's the best burger joint in Pattaya).

I think we owe it to the many living-dead posting here to leave dead threads in place: who knows what comfort the living dead receive from what is really a small sacrifice on our parts.

And, of course, at the same time, we express our tolerance for necrophiliacs and wanna-be-dead.
