A hunter who allegedly shot dead a gaur arrested

One of the three hunters wanted by the police for allegedly killing a gaur at Ang Rue Nai wildlife sanctuary in Chanthaburi’s Kaeng Hang Maew district last week has been arrested.

The suspect, 24-year old Rungroj Pokham, was presented at a press conference held at Chanthaburi provincial hall by governor Witoorat Srinam.

 

Police also seized from Rungroj’s possession one shotgun and three bags used to contain the gaur meat. Rungroj told the media that he decided to turn himself in to the police because he could no longer stand the pressure exerted by the police. He allegedly admitted that he used his own shotgun to shoot the gaur because he wanted its meat for food.

I have visited this national park many times and it holds some natural delights. On one trip my park guide pointed out a mineral lick and said this is where the gaurs often visit and that these locations are where many poachers ambush these great animals.

It is not the people who need to be protected from wild animals , it clearly is the animals that need protection from people ...

Remember!

They seam to be shooting each other at a more alarming rate these days no wonder wildlife has no chance.

This case needs a superhero to come to the rescue of one of his own.

 

That would be tasty organic meat, probably 6 months worth for a family
