Cheap gym near Emporium/BTS Phrom Phong area?

I am looking for something like a Planet Fitness or Gold's Gym type deal around Emporium.  I have been going to Virgin Active at Emquartier but they

charge around $130 per month...Anyone happen to know a good but reasonable gym in this area?

Thanks.  Greg

If Ekkamai in not too far, there is a new gym in the Gateway mall, attached to the Ekkamai BTS station.  Sorry, I don't recall the name.

Also another across Sukhumvit at the Major Cinema complex.

One more stop on the BTS in Phra Khanong, a new gym in the Holiday Hill shopping center below the BTS station.

If you want cheap try Tony's.

The equipment is old and it's really hot without AC.

I didn't find it acceptable.

The one by Ekkamai is not cheap, it's on the expensive side, but it's a beautiful place and I belonged there when I lived in town. It was a walk from my house. It's called We Fitness Society. They do have "non prime" memberships, if you have time to go in the middle of the day. Excellent equipment!

Jetts on Rama IV in Suan Plern - new equipment, not many classes, can pay by the month about 1,500 Baht

Jatomi on Rama IV in Tesco Lotus

There's also a gym in A Square on Sukhumvit 26, close to Rama IV - machines in this gym are not so good in my opinion, lots of free weights

All of the above are open 24x7 and prices are similar.

Emporium Suites also has a gym, which is open to non residents.

Sorry to hijack this thread, does any of the above permit a use by the hour? If so, how much is it? Do they have showers?

I'm going to stay at that area for a week or so and I don't wish to get into some subscription.

If it's not possible, can you suggest other places along the Sukhumvit? Ideally close to BTS Onnut.

Thanks in advance.

There is a gym on the odd side of the road at Sukhumvit soi 31 in the S31 building, It had coloured poles sticking up through the walls. No idea of the price but always seems to be people in there.

Or you could try the gym in the park as you get off the skytrain at Phrom Phong. Not the most modern but you wont find anything cheaper.

a friend of mine is looking for a gym during his two month stay here.  yesterday we stopped in at the place referenced in post #10.  the rates were 500thb/day or 2,500thb/mo.  they also had a 2,500thb option for 10 days of use over 60 days.  21,000thb/yr.  i think they had a 6 month option also.  they have a shower but we didn't look at it.  i can also confirm that alot of people use the free workout area in the park next to emporium, both thai and farang.  i walk through there frequently.

Across the street in Gateway mall on the 4th floor (?) is a cheap one. Also just outside gateway is a cheap one.  We Fitness is very expensive.
