May 13, 20196 yr Popular Post The pipe on the bottom one is rather reminiscent of this Coventry Eagle Flying 250 from 1937: They made some very nice bikes in their time. Here's a 1928 Flying 8 Side Valve: And a Flying 8 Overhead Valve from the same year, with a rather Brough Superior like look to it: Just like Brough, they were unable to source parts after the war and turned to making bicycles under the Falcon Cycles name, which is still going. One more Coventry Eagle, showing the amount of effort that can go into restoring a "barn find" - a 1937 148cc N1 Silent Superb. Bravo.

May 14, 20196 yr Popular Post Top pic' .. Awesome 37 litre , 24 banger ( two flat 12's atop one another ) Napier Sabre aero lump as fitted to the Typhoon & Tempest fighter bombers of WW2 .. Max power 3500 hp at the end of war .. Lower shots Napier W12 aero lump .. Near 24 litre , design of this began unbelievably before WW1 had ended .. in production in the 20's it was considered one of the most advanced designs around using bevel shaft cam drives and the latest in magneto ignition systems .. remained in production well into the 30's even when more contemporary lumps like the Merlin were starting to become available but was always more difficult to make than a more conventional V12 .. Napier Railton from 20's fitted with a Lion .. 1300 hp on those tyres .. Yikes ..

First thought was a Guzzi, but that would be too easy, and hardly shocking. However, an article on the origins of the Moto Guzzi twin brought up this fellow Italian from the 50's: Still (mainly) oiled up and ready to go. Let's leave the question open for any other budding detectives.
