Maybe I am being somewhat naive in expecting a Thai motor cycle shop to quote the manufacturers price for a Yamaha Grand Filano Classico.  Yamaha in Bangkok say basic price is 52,000 baht.   However Shops in Khon Kaen and Pattaya are quoting anything from 54,000 to 56,000 baht plus the add-ons.  Is it a case of TIT?

They may be including registration - an extra cost . Show them the brochure and see what they say. May be a case of supply and demand. Can you negotiate a deal with any add-ons you require.

But a shop can of course sell it for whatever price they want, so try to negotiate with them or look around if anybody is selling it for the base price

the value of the bike drops 20% on the day you take it from the shop,

its better to buy 2nd hand IMO.

i saw a filano below 20k for sale,

big problem is you need to be pygmy size to fit on it,

actually the only bike i can sit on without discomfort is forza,

but that one too need a handle bar extension

A forza is a land yacht without enough power

I owned one and hated it

Versys 650 was much more nimble, agile and it moves when you want it to.... 

And they weighed about the same too....
