Pattaya police were out in force on Beach Road last night arresting female and male prostitutes.

But no one was even fined back at the station.

Some sixty women and lady boys had their details and pictures taken and were then released without charge.

Pattaya News said it was all designed to make it easier to catch miscreants if crimes are committed against tourists in the future.

The process was met with the anticipated derision from Thai Facebook posters with one suggesting facetiously that the mayor ought to organize a "Grand Sex Sale" to advertise the resort.

Well. if this doesn't convince me that Pattaya is NOT an International World Class Family Resort nothing ever will. I am never going there again and I will warn my family to do likewise. Disgusting!

Arrest the Johns, charge them and if convicted, publish their details including home countries. That will deter the sex tourists.

How do you know they were prostitutes?  They could just be people waiting for a friend like that old Rolling Stones song went.

Tar and feather them I say make it a spectacle, How dare they prostitute themselves and bring a bad name to Pattaya.

I often shake my head in wonder when I see parents with a child in a stroller rolling down Walking Street, or hand-in-hand with their 6 year old daughter going up Soi 6. Pattaya is NOT typical Thailand and should never be considered as such.

Perhaps changing his socks more often would be more appropriate.
