Germany’s Merz calls for ‘independence’ from US after election win
Without a doubt Merz is the smartest politician German has had in the last 20 years. However, he is firmly in the pocket of Israel, so same old same old. Not the bold and fearless original thinker Trump is. Yet clearly better than the Linke or SPD. -

Germany’s Merz calls for ‘independence’ from US after election win
Actually undermining the NATO alliance is the fault of the European members themselves especially the Germans who did not listen to Trump the first time when he told them they were not making the contributions and were relying on the US taxpayer to cover the shortfall. Add to that their unrelenting arrogance that the EUSSR could provoke Putin by expanding all the way to the Russian border and not expecting him to push back especially the regions that are considered to be predominantly Russian by heritage. There really are some clueless individuals on this forum -

Problem transitioning from OA to O Non-Immigrant Retirment Visa
Great thanks. I got my original OA in Canada last January and bought the throw away Thai insurance (needed for the visa) with a march start date, which was my intended arrival date. My trip was delayed so didn’t arrive in Thailand until July. Was only granted a stay until March of this year because that was when my insurance expired. Took a short trip to Singapore in August and then returned to Thailand. Got an extension this morning of my OA until March 2026, but needed to purchase another throw away Thai insurance policy. Not sure of my travel plans for next year, but sounds like I will need to plan a trip to coincide with the expiration of my OA so I can then transition to the O. -

Why on earth would you even consider paying tax in Thailand?
What Tax? As long as the Thai government is not even able to provide the necessary documents in a language other than Thai, why should I pay taxes? If someone wants something like that from me, they should do something about it. The government still owes potential taxpayers binding information, which includes at least English paperwork!
