Try Rich Inn Soi 20 (opposite Windsor Suites)

Or Drop Inn also Soi 20 (in a side soi on the right near the junction with Suk)

Or Coco (at) 20

That price for a hotel in the primary tourist area is a bit ambitious, unless you sacrifice the main things that make a hotel stay enjoyable or are necessary ie. a breakfast, a bar, wifi, safety deposit box in the room, air-con AND a reasonably peaceful environment.

This goes without say and are my priorities. Anything less you are welcome to.

By 'guest friendly' do you mean one's which won't charge extra for an additional person staying overnight (which is perfectly reasonable,) as I have yet to stay in a hotel which doesn't allow visitors into guest rooms?

what you want is nearly impossible, you either have to up your budget or move away from the center of the city

My internet went down before I was able to update this post yesterday.

I misread Nana Plaza as Soi Cowboy!! But it's not too far a taxi ride between the 2 so these places are within an easy radius.

And I think Rich Inn may no longer exist now.

You could try Sams Lodge in Soi 21, nice clean room, that's if you do not mind paying 2000Bt refundable deposit. yes, you read that right.

These places are in the $40-50 price range. Some cheap insalubrious places down in soi 4, in the alley opposite Rajah, also Wild Orchid, The Swan etc.

Pinnacle Sukhumvit Inn....cleaner and better than Orchid, but it is in the middle of little arabia, but I did four nights there at about 15...good wifi, escorted to my room by the maid...old but very decent..And a great bathtub...zero trouble, and a group of Nigerians in the lobby..on their best behavior....I don't think Miami is any better but they have a pool..at Miami...No ladyb oys allowed at Pinnacle....but very girlfriendly.

They used to be Baht 600 to 800 when I stayed there.

I think they still are about that much. But I know Drop Inn is more like 1400. It's nice - my friend likes to stay there, but the OP specified $20 or lower.

Puleeze specify country. The USA is not the only country in the world that uses dollars.

Actually, you should convert to baht anyway. Some of us can't be bothered doing the calculation, but probably know a place that would be suitable if we know how many baht you are talking about. Hotels don't take $.
