Jailed British anti-Muslim activist Robinson released on bail

 

 

LONDON (Reuters) - Jailed British anti-Muslim activist Tommy Robinson has been released on bail after his appeal against a conviction for contempt of court was partially granted.

 

Robinson, 35, was arrested in May outside a courthouse in Leeds, northern England, while making video recordings about a trial related to child molestation and jailed for 13 months.

 

The case has attracted international attention after sources said a representative of U.S. President Donald Trump had raised it with Britain's ambassador to the United States following lobbying by the right-wing Breitbart.com website.

 

Robinson's real name is Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, although he uses a number of aliases. He is a founder of the English Defence League (EDL), which has organized violent demonstrations against Islamic immigrants in the UK in the past decade.

 

Appeal Court judges on Wednesday ruled that the process of convicting Robinson in Leeds was flawed as the proceedings were completed too quickly.

 

He will be released from custody pending a rehearing, a date for which has yet to be set.

 

Robinson's supporters in court clapped when his release was announced. Outside, police kept apart dozens more of them from "Stand up to Racism" activists who were protesting against his release.

 

Robinson's conviction in Leeds came after he had earlier in May been handed a suspended sentence for attempting to film defendants at Canterbury Crown Court during a rape trial, actions which the judge said could have derailed the trial.

 

The judges on Wednesday dismissed an appeal by Robinson against the Canterbury conviction.

When someone makes an assertion it's up to someone else to provide the evidence? And if that someone else doesn't find it that just means they didn't look hard enough. Foolproof plan. A very high evidentiary standard you set.

To reiterate, Yaxley-Lennon has not been cleared.

 

His conviction for contempt of court in Canterbury and the three month suspended sentance he recived for it stand.

 

His conviction for the Leeds contempt has been quashed and a retrial ordered; that is why he is out on bail, not freed.

 

This ruling shows that in the UK the rule of law applies to us all and the law must be applied fairly to all; even to a violent thug, fraudster and liar with multiple aliases who uses the suffering of children to further his own publicity and boost the monetary contributions to his website from the gullible. 

 

I await his retrial with interest.

With free speech comes responsibility.

 

In both Canturbury and Leeds Yaxley-Lennon broadcast, or attempted to  broadcast, information on criminal trials which if made public before the trials were over could have prejudiced the result.

 

This could easily have led to both trials being declared mistrials or the verdicts being quashed. Either of which would have, at best, resulted in new trials putting the victims through the trauma of giving evidence, and possibly being cross examined, again.

 

Worse still, the verdicts could have been declared unsafe and the possibility of the accused recieving a fair trial now past. Resulting in two now convicted gangs of child rapists being freed.

 

Fortunately Yaxley-Lennon was stopped before it came to that.

One way or another, the leftists were going to take Tommy Robinson out of action and they did.

 

Rather than lose face that the present UK government and past governments policies of open door immigration have failed, whereas they have been covering up Muslim gangs catastrophic child abuse, child murders and Muslims trying to gain strong footholds, that includes terrorists, fanatics, criminals that are destroying British communities and culture, anyone who dares speak up against it, will be labelled a member of the far right, described as a racist and persecuted by the authorities.

 

Although Tommy Robinson is now out of jail, he will be on continuous surveillance by the police. Even if he says boo to a goose he`ll be arrested and thrown back into jail in record time, which was the plan all along.

 

To the leftists and the Muslims the leftists support, Tommy Robinson is their public enemy number one, they really do fear this guy, because he has blown their rotten policies into the open.

 

I have donated money to Tommy`s campaigns and will continue to do so.
