I recently sold a car and have received payment. Turned over the keys and blue book, certificate of residence and passport copy.

The agent for the buyer is saying he needs the original TM30, not copies. I assume the original TM30 is with Immigration.

Anyone have experience with the documents required?

Never heard of them needing a TM30

you already gave a "certificate of residence"    did you give the buyer a signed "power of attorney" form ?

what about signed ( seller and buyer) and dated  sales receipt ? ( copy kept by yourself in case car is used for  wrong doings)

I signed a sales contract. Money was transferred to my bank account. I assume the receipt was given by the agent to the buyer.

It would be a pretty dumb criminal to use the car for nefarious purposes, because it is fairly distinctive.

unless of course they wanted it to look like you (someone other than them ) did the nefariousness.

anyway you have a sales receipt so should be covered.

Tell "the Agent" to go to the Immigration Department and collect the document he requires.

You have the money and the buyer has the car.

Deal done !

The TM30 is for Chiang Mai. The car was sold in Chiang Rai, by the agent there. Possibly your suggestion won't be well received.
