AIS must be offering something better than this?? I'm on DTAC unlimited 10mbps for 199THB/w.

The AIS price quoted is for six months of 6 Mbps. 1800 to 1926 baht in total.

Stop throwing your money away on 212.93 baht per week for 10 Mbps.

If you are here for the longer term, DTAC has a 10 Mbps 90 day package for 1300 baht plus VAT; 1391 baht. 108 baht per week, instead of 213. *104*598#

In UK now, coming soon.... but do tru do one for 6 months?

The 12 month pack is about the same as me doing 6 x 1 month packs hence why I'm interested if they do 6months... If you happen to know or have a link

@Kneedeep, for having nothing better to do than moan at the content of my posts, (as you did on previous occasions in this sub-forum) you have been added to my (very) short list of ignored users.

Don't bother replying or PMing me - I won't see your message.

Thanks to everyone else who provided useful comments and data ????

They do a 1 month package for around 200 baht unlimited do they?? That's not bad.
Not sure about True but AIS do a 6 month 1mpbs for 600 baht. Not sure if that's fast enough for you, at best you get standard chap chat and calls probably not video chat or YouTube though.

The Tru package I've used last few years or so....

Double net package 199 plus tax 7 %(so 213 baht so approx 7 baht per day) for 1 month.

Gives 'unlimited' data but after you use 1gb the speed(approx 22mbps)drops to 0.128 mbps (slow!)

That's ok, because you are a timewaster anyway.

So better for me that you don't get the benefit of my posts. Why would I PM you? Do you imagine yourself that important? Funny.

Don't worry, some people keep asking stupid things on forums and then tell us that they know better, some even seem to be specialists....

That's too much. Dependent on the bandwidth you need and for how long, DTAC has 365, 180 & 90 days plans too.

Ranging in bandwidth from 10Mbps(1.25MB/s) to 1 Mbps(0.25MB/s).

Example, 90 days at 1/4/10 Mbps is 588.50/963/1391 baht respectively for unlimited 'no slow down' data.

Never used AIS only tru
I'm used to 22mbps but interestingly do I need that speed? Almost certainly not

But is 1mbps too slow? Maybe I should try it and see. As you say should be OK for basic chat and checking websites. No point in paying for speed you don't need

I would try it for 1 month and if ok then pay for 6 more(I have dual sim)

Thanks

AIS also has 4 Mbps, 6 Mbps & 10 Mbps packages. Do you have problems with them in your location?

They have various packs covering six months, dependent on the bandwidth you need.

Cheapest is a six month SIM from Lazada for around 370 baht inclusive of postage, which gives you 200 GB of data over six months, capped at 1 Mbps.

Otherwise you can simply add a six or twelve month package to an existing SIM. Not sure if it's a typo, but Truemove H charged the same for a 6 & 12 month 1 Mbps unlimited package, at 642 baht.

4 Mbps for six months is 1498 baht.

If you need more speed, you can take on of their 90 day 6 Mbps or 10Mbps packs for 1070 or 1445.50 respectively.

You can try any of the packs out for one or two days, even a week.

Just tell in which you are interested and I'll provide the USSD code.

What, no freebies?!! [emoji39]

Cool thanks KneeDeep will try 1mbps on arrival

Another job ticked off my list... Only 25 more sleeps! [emoji23]

31.03 baht for 1 Mbps over 48 hours *900*1752#
41.73 baht for 4 Mbps over 48 hours *900*1753#
52.43  baht for 6 Mbps over 48 hours *900*1754#

That will give you ample opportunity to stress test.

Outside Thapra Mall tonight I was running 4.9 down, 6.6 up. Im going to test it in the city center tomorrow. Back here at my condo its 3.87/4.47 but im easily streaming Netflix.

I dont know if the package I bought was "the best" but for the equivalent of $45 for 6 months Im damn happy with the service. I do lose the GPS in the MRT or in Malls on occasion.

Surely even the 1 yr package at a steady 4mbps is a better deal than that one isnt it? SO you basically getting 1gb data and then it slows down just enough to surf?

Certainly not if he doesn't live in Thailand.

Something like this; https://www.lazada.co.th/products/plus-6-200gb100gb-i232884842-s357028387.html  200 GB of data at 1Mbps over six months for 315 baht looks better value.

You also get another 100 GB allowance over six months for YouTube, LINE TV & Facebook.

If the OP makes do with a 1GB plan that slows down afterwards, it seems that 1 Mbps will be enough.

I actually have one of these and don't have any issue with day to day usage. You only notice the speed when you are actually downloading or uploading a file. But for everyday usage such as browsing and social media it does the job.

I bought it as a test and now it's staying in the phone.

The faster plans are needed if you intend to tether, a laptop for instance.

If you can make do with 1mbps then it this is a good option 200+100gb. I doubt at 1mbps you will be able to use the data in the time fame. Thats over 1gb per day and 500mb for Youtube and Facebook.

Its a pitty they dont these promotions without the need to be getting a new simcard everytime.

The cheaper promotions ones link the links on lazada require you to have a new sim yes.

You can use some of the promotions with same sim card but they generally cost

slightly more.

If you change network in doing so, it might be possible. But not if it's a new SIM for the same network.

But then as 2008bangkok states, you can still subscribe to other packages on your existing SIM at very reasonable prices.

The OP has now awoken from his UK slumber!

Disappointed re new sim cards. I currently have a Tru sim card (PAYG) with a number I'd prefer to keep ideally

Three Q's

1. Re those USSD's given yesterday , surely those can be punched in on my current set up(no new sim needed)?

2. If I then want to take up that offer longer term(hopefully 1mbps will be enough I agree ) on those attractive terms, must I go through a lazada type deal requiring a seperate sim? Will assume Tru not offering..

If so that would mean having to take out my UK sim(dual sim phone) which is just a minor ball ache.

3. Unless of course these cheap data packs also come with calls? In which case that will have a new number which is OK no ideal(possible to change?)

Sorry many questions, normally id call tru but I'm in UK (plus they may not offer these deals 'directly' anyway

Thanks

1. Yes. They can be utilised on an existing Truemove H SIM.

2. Depends what deal you want. If 1 Mbps for six months, just tap in *900*9959# and it will cost you 642 baht. But....that particular code states valid until 31.10.18 and apparently you will arrive later than that. So you'll need to recheck/remind after the 31st.

3. If you get a SIM on the same network, you won't be able to port the number. No free calls are included. Usually around 1 baht per minute.

Thanks again!

Naturally as I'm coming to HH for 6 months I'm interested in saving money on my previous plans ie PAYG calls plus a 1 month data pack(213 incl tax)

So calls and data pack for 6 months would be ideal if tru offer at reasonable price

But I'm happy to split them if lazada (data only) works out cheaper... Or any other combo.... I'm a proper skinflint!

I'll get on the websites tonight, thanks again for the Intel.

Um the AIS plan is like 320B a month. Half price to your plan.

Ok thanks, I thought other poster was quoting monthly not 6 monthly. However I will stay with DTAC for now. I find it better than my other SIM for True for speed and get a reliable 10mbps down at the 3 different main locations I use it at.
