First bright sunlight in two months in Nakhon Phanom

Many local people came out to run, bike and do aerobic dances in the park along the Mekong River in Nakhon Phanom’s downtown when the first bright sunlight in two months smiled on the northeastern province.

It rained every day for the past two months and the presence of constant rain clouds darkened the mood in the scenic province.

But after sunlight reappeared on Saturday morning, rejoicing people left their buildings to exercise.

The Nakhon Phanom Meteorological Office had predicted the province could see light rains covering 40 per cent of its area on Saturday.

The Nakhon Phanom Irrigation Office reported that the level of Mekong River had lowered from 12.72 metres at 5pm on Friday to 12.70 metres by 7am on Saturday. The office said it expected the water level would gradually decrease to a normal level.

Topic has been moved to the Isaan Forum.

Thus Bangkok's impromptu Thai geography lesson has been cancelled.

Living in central Isaan, quite a few hours of blue sky and sunshine.

But the east and all of Mekong river banks has been hit hard.

Same where I live in Udon Thani yesterday and so far today also, bright blue cloudless skies, not so much humidity - beautiful day ?

Was a pleasure to get out in the garden and get some much needed exercise.
