A Lao welder was arrested in Mukdahan Sunday night while waiting to cross the Mekong after fleeing Samut Prakan where he allegedly robbed and killed a grocery store owner and her granddaughter earlier in the day.

BEIJING (Reuters) - China accused Taiwan's spy agencies on Sunday of stepping up efforts to steal intelligence with the aim of "infiltration" and "sabotage", and warned the island against further damaging already strained cross-strait ties.

The management of the Central shopping centre has apologised to Phuketians following a storm that battered part of the new building yesterday (September 16). Sunday afternoon wind and rain storms caused damage on some of the fixings to the new overpass structure. No one was injured.

223 monkeys caught in Phuket mass-sterilisation Round 2, 162 sterilised so far

PHUKET:-- The Director of the Khao Phra Thaew Natural and Wildlife Education Centre, Pongchart Chouehorm, has confirmed that a total of 223 monkeys have caught at Toh Sai Hill for sterilisation in ‘Round 2’ of the wild monkey mass-sterilisation with 162 having already been sterilised.
