What ever you think is approiate carry on

Nothing is "approiate". I was asking a question that was reasonably civil, in my humble opinion. Any civil answer would be nice.

This is a different case from the one claimed on Koh Tao.

Like a book, the cover maybe different but the story`s the same.

If like the other one, this girl would have bolted back to England and then cried rape from afar with no evidence to back up her allegations, our TV keyboard warriors for justice would have been condemning the Thai police and calling this another cover up.

Warning; any guys that meet these girls in Thailand could be accused of being rapists in the morning. Dangerous.

This is what drugs do to you, not only alcohol.   I wonder if the other rape case could have been similar ?

Thai RTP doing a pretty good job here after all.

“toxicology tests showed no drugs in her blood or urine and there was no evidence of rape.

what drugs are you referring to?

if people want to criticize this woman for her actions fair enough, but stop all these type of unjust accusations just cos it helps you try and argue your theories.

Extremely fortunate! Plenty of people have been charged for making false allegations about many things, lesser than this. To wander off without consequence seems to be amazingly lucky.

What do you think the possibilities of this being set up and the girl paid to 'act out' the whole thing????? ...just for the purpose of 'dis-crediting' the last girl who went back to London claiming rape on Koh Tao......... Knowing how the cops and private interests want to disprove the other girls claim....... And yet it could also be just as publicised about this story..........

BUT THEY DID JUST LET THIS GIRL WALK AWAY INSTEAD OF FILING CHARGES AGAINST HER............ Makes me wonder............

Nice theory, but does the British Embassy regularly take part in these charades also?

Maybe you have read something I haven't but nowhere in the article at the top of this thread does it mention that she even made a complaint to the police.

How about the possibilities that those who defended the rape allegations of the girl in the Koh Tao case and slagged off the Thai police, have lost face now realising that not all rape claims are fact. It does appear that false rape claims by British girls holidaying in Thailand may become an epidemic.

Girls partying on these islands then claiming rape to try and protect their own reputations.

Did she apologise to the people of the UK for bringing shame on our country?

Rather than to us Brits it's genuine rape victims she should IMHO be apologising to for undermining their cause.

It is with rape allegations as with any other allegations - the majority are true and some are false....

There are millions of other and not least better ways to increase your reputation so this type of claims seems to be based on a desperately need of attention rather than to protect the reputation. An immature act totally devoid of any understanding when it comes to consequences....

Are you serious? "An immature act totally devoid of any understanding when it comes to consequences...." Do you truly believe it`s that trivial?

These immature acts totally devoid of any understanding when it comes to consequences can ruin the lives of innocent men, create a huge waste of police time and resources and not to mention the stress and trauma these false claims can cause to all the families concerned, including placing doubts on women that really do become victims of rape

Women that make false rape allegations should face harsh consequences for their actions because rape is no trivial matter under any circumstances.

True and the same applies to those %$#@&*^%$ that do actually commit rape. So let's be reasonable here and wait for an investigation conclusion. Although many of us may have cynical views of any investigations that are carried out here, that's the best we have and until we can do any better, just deal with it!!!

Unfortunately I am not a native English speaker, but from my point of view we pretty much are on the same page. The only difference was that I do not believe that this act was to protect the reputation, but rather a desperately need of attention in one way or another....

Our discussion remind me about a fierce discussion between 2 well affected men in a bar where they discussed all night long about who have been the best boxer through the ages - 1 claimed Cassius Marcellus Clay and the other claimed Muhammad Ali - they ended up shaking hands the next day...

I don`t have to deal with anything and hope I`m never on the receiving end of a false rape allegation.

Even if a man is charged with rape and no evidence is found or a girl`s story is proven to be false, there will always be doubts in the minds of others whether the guy is a rapist or not, that could affect a career and relationships with other people.

These women are as criminally bad as the rapists.

Are you illiterate? Read the story again and you'll see the investigation has already concluded.

No evidence of rape. No one entered her room. No memory of anything due to drunkness. And she apologised for making up stories and wasting everyone's time.

But having heard so many stories about how the British embassy don't give a fig about their own citizens, I guess making up a rape story is what the Brits need to resort to, to finally get those entitled public servants at the embassy to get off their fat assses

read today in uk news. slightly off topic but anyway think the mods will forgive me. out of all men between the ages of 18-25 arrested for rape in the uk less than 30% end up with a conviction and those reported are believed to be a fraction of those committed.

they may believe but they still have to prove as you know, that's not so easy

Ever heard of the jury system

As for being OFF TOPIC you are and a bit more than slightly 5555555

Why should the "mods" forgive you,  you are discussing their possible  actions on the open forum 55555555

So much damage can be done but falsely accusing this guy who she 'thought' might have raped her.  What has happened to the world these days?  innocent UNTIL proven guilty?

The law appears to work in a different way when the word "Rape" is involved - a lot of this lies squarely on the doorstep of the fat, ugly, unfuXable left wing lesbian feminazi fascists, who have turned justice on its head over the last few years.

These woman that make false rape accusations should be taken out and publicly shafted by a cart horse.

It may be just good logic. If they would have made an example of her and given a strict, or any punishment, it may hamper the investigation, cooperation or public opinion of the other British woman who claimed rape and the police say she didn't tell them that. The fact that this is reported may somehow assuage the first issue from the Thai point of view. However, a simple google reveals this story only in Thai media. Where's the Brit media here?

why doing a drug test for a might be rape victim???

just to say like, 'hey, this girl was doing drugs etc etc'

what a nonsense!

Or....maybe...they test for drugs to see if she was a victim of a spiked drink. ????
