Bufenac Forte vs Baclofen, same same or not?

Featured Replies

I have been trying to buy Baclofen but all my different pharmacy visits have been in vain, including Fascino. However my local pharmacy sold me Bufenac Forte and told me that Diclonefac is the same as Baclofen. I read the details on the Bufenac packet once I got home and see no mention of a muscle relaxant that Baclofen has, Bufenac is to treat joint inflammation. I went back to the same pharmacy today and she was still adamant that the two were the same. Is she correct? Sheryl may be qualified to answer this question.

Edit: Baclofen = Muscle Relaxant

         Diclofenac= Anti- Inflammatory

How can this possibly be the same thing?

They are not the same.

Baclofen is the generic name as is diclofenec. Totally different drugs.

Brand names of Baclofen in Thailand are:

  • Baclofen Pharmadica
  • Baclosol
  • Fenisal
  • Liobac
  • Musclofen

Don't let them sell you anything else as it is unlikley to be baclofen.

Anything that is Baclofen will have that, and  not another genric, name listed under the brand name

Thanks Sheryl, confirmed what I suspected. Do you have any idea where I can buy Baclofen? Have tried several pharmacies including Fascino with no luck.

No, sorry. You could try contacting the distrubutirs and asking them if they have supplied to anywhere in Pattaya:

Pharmadica (Baclofen Pharmadica)  02-748 1213 -4, (+66) 2748 1983 -4, (+66) 2330 8550

MacroPharm (Fenisal)  Tel: (+66) 2314 6671

Sriorasit Pharma (Liobac)  02 437 0345

It is not a drug witgh much demand OTC so possible only the larger hospitals have it

It seems Baclofen is unavailable in Pattaya. Tried all the companies that you suggested Sheryl, none supply pharmacies in Pattaya. I forgot to ask if they can send me Baclofen by post, so maybe I'll ring back. I really only need a few tablets to try, because I believe the effects are pretty much immediate, so buying a box of 100 may be a waste of money if they don't work.

Distributors will not uduslly sell private individusls small amounts. Their job is to supply retailers. They will sometimes sell to a private individual if it is a large quantity but that's not your situation.

You might ting back and ask if they have supplied any of the hospitals in Pattaya. Also ask re pharmacies in Chonburi town.
