PVC for Semi Rigid Inflatable

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know of any place in Bangkok or surrounding area where I can buy PVC fabric. This is the kind used for RIB's or Semi Rigid Inflatable boats.  I've been scouring the internet but found nothing, so I figured this is the kind of information you can only get by word of mouth.   Appreciate all replies.

In chinatown are several shops with large rolls of pvc in any color (for refurbishing)...dont know if they have the quality for boats...

Is it for a repair ? if so try some of the small ship chandlers in Pattaya. If not a very quick scan on ebay has listed a few suppliers. This is one https://www.ebay.com/itm/2-Yd-40oz-Polyurethane-TPU-Inflatable-Boat-Ballistic-PVC-Free-Fabric-Urethane/192358297551?hash=item2cc972afcf:g:cUQAAOSwwzhZTsAX

Thanks for this Esso49.  Appreciate your effort. I think I might make a trip to Pattaya this weekend.

Thanks for your reply Thian, I've been to a number of shops in China town and Klong Thom area, unfortunately it's not the right kind of PVC.  Appreciate your effort though.

In that case you can ask those shops where to buy the stuff you need...they know the business pretty well.

I have no idea how valuable your boat is but if it's an expensive one i would order the pvc online from a real brand and real shop in a decent country.

Actually Thian, my boat is back in Cape Town.  I'm going to try and make my own self-righting capsize bag.  The PVC is available in Cape Town, although it's pretty expensive (about 1200 baht per meter). So I was hoping to find it cheaper here in Thailand.  I leave next weekend, so I guess I'm gonna just have to buy it back home. Thanks for your suggestions though, I'll probably go to Khong Thom market this weekend and I'll ask around some more.
