Gall bladder removal . Yes or no ?

Featured Replies

Anyone had their gall bladder removed ?

If yes , did it improve your health and well being ?

Any downsides ?

If given the option would you still have had it removed ?

Hospital wanted to remove mine 5 years back.

I didn't, and I've been fine ever since after exercising a bit more and losing some weight.

I had my gallbladder removed at least 15 years ago. Prior to having my gallbladder removed I was experiencing very sharp episodes of pain which would literally bring me to my knees doubled over in pain. I too was concerned about having my gallbladder removed but things have not changed one iota since I had it removed, other then I am pain free. Of course, in a perfect world we want to hang on to all our organs but it is true what was told to me before the operation that removing your gallbladder will make absolutely no difference in your health going forward. Truer words were never spoke. A health store owner tried to convince me that you must not have the operation and then went on to try and sell me many expensive items in his health store. I am glad I saw through his charade and did not listen to his BS. Have it removed if you are experiencing sharp pain and you don't have to worry about it being removed. Nothing will change and you will have your quality of life back.

2 years ago since my (1st) attack. Advice was immediate removal. I read up on the topic. Got twice a later attack (which were cured by taking luk-tai-bai tea a.s.a.p.).

I choose to keep my gall bladder. Ct scan and later ultrasound showed big stone (>2.5cm). Last attack occurred 30dec 2016.

Educate youself. You find out that things like deep fried foods are a big nono. Non fried fat foods (such as butter and coldpressed oils) are ok but you might take it easy on them in first couple of months.

Wishing you well and good luck
