A word of caution about dentists..

Featured Replies

Need an extraction and a bridge done on one tooth. Have visited two reputable clinics and been quoted prices that are more expensive than my home country. The one even had the exact price range online but when visited the clinic it went up 4x "Oh sorry website not update" plus a bunch of blantant lies to cover it up. Im guessing this is more then often the case with the smaller clinics here, I will try a few more and after that i will probably just do extraction here and head to Bangkok. If any one have a solid tip about a clinic in Phuket that doesnt rip foreigners off I would appreciate it.

I suspect there's been a misunderstanding, or you have been very unlucky to visit two greedy dentists.

My dentist is off with a bad back at the moment so I have no recommendation. Sorry!

The dental department in Mission Hospital is excellent, I doubt very much that anyone's been ripped off there.

+1

Dr tawatchai, opposite post office in Phuket town.

I had a couple of teeth extracted at Paolo Hospital in Saphan Khwai for 1300BHT. Is that alot?. 45USD didnt seem like much to me.

Yes, I tried the dental dept at Bangkok Phuket hospital, this after some painful dental work at a couple of other dentists and they were great!!

I explained my fear of dental work and asked if they could provide 'gas" to put me out a little if required and they said that they could. However not needed as the dentists were gentle and caring in their work, and I was so pleased, and as sketcher has said, relatively inexpensive.

I can recommend them and I won't go anywhere else now.

A small secret for those who may need such a facility. Adjacent to this dental clinic on the 5th floor is the best disabled toilet I've seen in Phuket.

That's awful! I haven't been to a dental place in Phuket. Have only used Thantakit Dental Center in Bangkok for my veneers and root canal treatments. Exceptional place. I don't mind traveling there. It's the one that I use in the past 4 years. Cheers.
