Inmates escape from court after stealing prison transport truck

Pol Colonel Narat Savettanan, director-general of the Corrections Department, urgently flew to the southern province of Chumphon on Thursday after three inmates stole a prison transport truck and escaped from Lang Suan Provincial Court.

 

 

Narat was accompanied by his deputy Pol lt Colonel Prawuth Wongsinil.

 

An initial report said that the prison guard who drove the truck to deliver the three inmates had left the key in the truck's ignition. The inmates, who were waiting at the building's ground floor to be escorted into the court, ran back to the truck and drove off. 

 

 

Although court police tried to block their exit, the inmates broke through the barricade fence and fled, according the CCTV footage.

 

It was reported that six inmates - all of whom facing drug charges - attempted to flee. Three who fled on foot were recaptured shortly afterwards, while those fled in the stolen truck remained elusive as of press time.

The prisoners were obviously confused and mistook the court for a drive-thru.

2-3 day and they catch them

Keystone cops, have nothing on this clown.

Drove the truck with prison inmates, and left the keys in !! Bloody priceless.

Maybe he thought he was Mr Bean.????????

Why the guards not stop one of the cars behind that car and give chase?

 

Seems they giving up without even trying.

the one that was pinned under the gate didn't look to healthy for the experience

So what about the flattened prisoner, when the gate fell on him and the truck drove over the top? He must have been seriously injured?

I wouldn't like them to ask me to help with the chase D1990 , I would like as not end up with ticket for speeding , red light running and driving without due care and attention. OK ignore the last one 99% of those on the road could get a ticket for that.

The man who pulled the gate off of him then just grabbed his arm and started dragging him to his feet.  Never mind about the broken bones!

Amusing as I just finished serving 4 days on jury duty.  Keystone cops comes to mind.  Still have to wonder a bit if the guard just got lazy, or was encouraged to leave the keys in?  Kind of make it look like an accident?
