Looking for a recommendation for the very best possible pediatric cardiologist at a private hospital for my three year old son (or suggestions about how I might find him or her).   I prefer a relatively young doctor, as he or she would hopefully be treating my three year old son for many years.

My son had major surgery and other procedures as an infant, at a public hospital that saved his life.  He is expected to have further surgery in a few years, and has a couple of heart conditions, namely cardiomyopathy and pulmonary stenosis, as well as other medical conditions.  He is doing very well.  I would like the best possible for him, regardless of cost.

We live in Cambodia where there is very little for us medically.  The public hospital has continued to provide great care, but there is the potential of cracks dealing with them from another country, that might even cost him his life.   That is why I am looking to make the change to a private hospital with a great cardiologist.   We are not looking for a surgeon — presumably the cardiologist will find the surgeon when he or she is required, and presumably the cardiologist will assist on any procedures.

thank you

All  are US trained and board certified .

They are all in their 50's. I don't know of any younger than that I could recommend. bear in mind there is a trade off between age and experience. The first doctor listed is probably a few years younger than the others (early 50's), extremely well qualified and a Professor at a leading medical school.

Thank you Sheryl.   I was hoping that you would post.  You gave me exactly what I was looking for.

i am focusing primarily on the first doctor.  He seems to be affiliated with Chula hospital, as well as Bangkok hospital .

i am thinking of seeing him at Bangkok hospital instead, partly because the local hospital where we live in Cambodia is affiliated with the Bangkok group, which would make things easier in case we need to be evacuated in an emergency.

Samirivej is one of the few hospitals in Bangkok that I have not been to over the years for my own medical conditions.  Thai friends and their families used it decades ago, when it was independent.

Would you suggest that we go to Samitivej instead?   As I mentioned, my son will require surgery in a few years, or perhaps at any time in an emergency, so the entire hospital counts.

Thank you

While I am partial to Samitivej, especially as regards their nursing care, Bangkok Hospital should be fine. And easier to transfer to from Cambodia.
