LB, you are realy embracing the whole 'real Thai' thing aint you pal? If you dont mind my asking, why dont you splash out 3/4 grand a month while your pad is being built? You could get a veritable shang ri laa in KK for that.

Concrete floor? Thai toilet? Madness dear boy!

Not first choice but to be near the new house it was either this or 14 k away and have to pay taxis or whatever every day. There are still a couple of rooms unlet if you are quick.

Forgot to mension, my mate has a house next door with a swimming pool and satelite TV.

Mermaids is 1200Baht per night on the beach and breakfast is not included. They have two pools however, one at each side of the road.

Paradise resort in Maenam is a decent resort in a nice location, friends and family have stayed there on numerous occasions and have always said it is very good.

Havn't heard a bad thing about the resort yet.

Friend of mine stayed at Mermaid, and got it down to 800 Baht on the beachside, room 2, I think, not bad, except the a/c isn't that cool! And the food SUCKS!!!
