  • Oh dear! I had to rush off to the toilet before I wet myself! That guy is just comedy gold! Thing is, he just doesn't realise it himself.

  • So they bottled it. A sensible move for once.

  • Yeah, you tell 'em General.

U-turn instead of hit-and-run

Too late.  Made top 40 on youtube.  Nobody is ignoring it.  It will one day be good not to have to listen to grand hooha's intelligence insulting remarks.   The song will endure while nothing he has said will.

Srivara also said that he has told the police to look into and press charges against media outlets that have been sharing “false news” about police arresting the rappers.

probably a member of the NCPO

Yes best thing for them is to accept the song and not make a fuzz, the more problems they make the more popular the song will become. Must sting hard for Prayut not being able to strike out.

So he uses comedy instead: 'Me? A dictator..?'

"“I would not have been able to stay this long if I was a dictator. Don’t pay much attention to it,” Prayut said".... It's almost as if the man thinks he was elected by popular vote ????

Really? Your profound insight never ceases to astound the reader with its perspicacity.

Why the unnecessary sarcasm? There's no reason why it shouldn't be political.

The Police Chief quoted is actually the subject of one of the verses in the song and not in shown in a very favourable light.

His first reaction therefore, was to suppress, hunt and charge the members of the group. Now, with 20m+ views - he has changed his mind.

So why do YOU think Mr Plod did that?

Because he's such a nice guy really?

No! Because he knows as we all do - that a song that grips the imagination of so many people around the world; for him to take any such action would be to incur professional and political suicide.

There. Do you think you might understand now? (Counter sarcasm - not pleasant, is it)?

However, Srivara said the Technology Crime Suppression Division was still examining the song to see if there was anything in the lyrics that could be violating the Computer Crimes Act or sedition laws.

So its all over now I guess.

indeed,

for the sensible thing when they come to skin you and hang you in the central square alongside your masters will be to pretend you were always one of the people/with the people and not profiting from the latest corrupt ones

So in fact we are on the same page...

Well, yes,but Mr. Srivara might be "invited for questioning" if he doesn't take the draconian actions from the super elite force......

I don't think this can be quoted enough, every single quote of it that I see makes me chuckle. So here's my contribution to your chuckle.

'You talking to me....?' ????

Hear hear, Thai people, hear hear .....

If it is too much, then complain and fight for it. This rapper group would have been locked up and the boys-in-uniform would have thrown away the keys - unless you, the Thai people, stand up and voice your opinion.

In truly Thai way you did it peacefully, no protests, no riots but simply sharing the song.

I am not a fan of rap yet I salute the musicians as well as the Thai people to put the government there, where it belongs - to serve the majority of the people!

Well done - carry on the good work and Thailand might be able to see the light of day!

I see the junta has taken their finger off the plunger of the explosive filled vest they had donned.

Between the conception, And the creation, Between the emotion,
And the response, Falls the Shadow, Life is very long

Between the desire, And the spasm, Between the potency
And the existence, Between the essence, And the descent
Falls the Shadow
For Thine is the Kingdom, For Thine is, Life is, For Thine is the...

This is the way the world ends
This is the way the world ends
This is the way the world ends
Not with a bang but a whimper.

As of now on Youtube - 21.5 million views and 800,000+ likes and it's the number 1 top download on iTunes.  That's a lot of people to have to lock up and re-educate.  It's a wise person who can discern a tsunami while out at sea as the 40 feet high wave that breaks on shore is but a larger than normal roller while on the open ocean.  But if you fail to see it coming while it's still out at sea, when if finally rolls ashore it will destroy all that is near and dear to you unless you have made preparations.  The junta is comprised of soldiers who at some level understand that to win a war you must give up individual battles and return to fight another day - or even better - sign an Armistice and try living in peace with those they had previously wished to rule by force.
Time will tell.

Yeah.  With 8 million watching it and still going, they understood it was best to leave it.

Yeah leave it for now, tomorow for thais is whole new day, there isnt any past or future, only today forgotten tomorrow.

So, is it allowed to use the d-word in TVF yet?

I look forward to disbanding these oldies

Maybe they should stick to lowering the road toll and improving the standard of education

20 million scared the s*** out of them.  Keep the music coming!  Now the youth are talking~elections may be moved forward, and a new smash hit from the head cheese is in order

cant lock up the world even for a little attitude adjustment. These kids deserve a trophy. They did what no other have been able to do with out all concerned being rounded up. The irony with a uk girl saying shed been raped and the effort taken to squash her but this? Theyre scared and everyones taken note...

Meanwhile, Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-o-cha, who is on a mobile Cabinet trip in Phayao province, also said the song’s reference to an authoritarian military regime was not true, as this government is not what the song suggests.

Perception of the Thai people will dictate how successful politicians are in the future, and perhaps even soldiers. The soldier/politicians need to start looking outside of their cocoon.

I give Srivara credit for admitting that he may have been wrong on his initial interpretation of the video...the junta leaders however, they need to wake up and take a close look at the publics opinion regarding their leadership. Not those that are all puckered up, real Thai citizens that will be voting, if there is ever an election.

"...also said the song’s reference to an authoritarian military regime was not true, as this government is not what the song suggests."

Glad we cleared that up!

If he says so, it must be alright then!
