I think you are confusing two different things.

 

Microwave ablation is used in some types of lung cancer and breast cancer and research is underway on wider applications i.e. use in other cancers. It is not yet widely available.

 

Controlled hyperthermia is sometimes used in conjunctionwith other cancer treatments. See www.cancer.gov/treatment/types/hyperthermia-fact-sheet

 

Appropriate use of hyperthetmia will be by main stream health providers and always in conjunction with an overall treatment program including other modalities as well (e.g. surgery, radiation, chemotherapy)

 

Places offering stand alone "hyperthermia treatment" or "microwave tteatment" are apt to be either fraudulent or unsafe. Deaths and brain damage have occurred in cancer patients going to such places. Avoid them.

I am scheduled to undergo this treatment as a stand alone. No other treatments - chemo, radiation.

Just inquiring if available in LOS and if any other TV posters have had it before.
