Welfare scam whistleblower Panida Yospanya on Thursday became an operative justice official at the Public Sector Anti-Corruption Commission (PACC) Region 4 Office in Khon Kaen, PACC acting secretary-general Wannop Somchintanakun said.

Panida was among several former and current interns at the Centre for Protection of the Destitute in Khon Kaen who brought the alleged graft to light last year, resulting in a nationwide probe at provincial centres that unveiled a multi-million-baht corruption scandal.

The PACC committee has resolved to issue 65 orders to launch fact-finding probes at 62 provincial centres, two self-help settlements and a co-operative village co-ordination centre.

Very nice.   And what happened with the probe? Anyone ended up in jail?

Many already and many waiting trials etc.

Good that she got a job.

Normally "whistleblowers" in Thailand get chased or threatened or sued with defamation.

This seems to be something like defamation law reverse.

Hope they carry on.

" The PACC committee has resolved to issue 65 orders to launch fact-finding probes "

So if I'm reading that right, one year on and they haven't actually got around to starting any probes, just a resolution to start them some time.
