Hi. My child is on an Ed visa and I’m on Non-O. We both just got new passports. I understand we need to go to the immigration office to transfer our current visa extensions and multiple re-entry permits form the old passports to the new passports.

First question: does my son need to be present at the immigration office to do this or can I do this for him?

Second question: does anyone have any experience doing this in Samui? How long does it take? Can it be done in one morning before they break for lunch?

Third question - is there a fee (I assume so) and, if so, how much?

Thanks in advance.

I don't recall there being a fee but you may like to check the pinned topic at the top of the page as the template found there proved useful when I did it. Samui IO are quiet and user friendly at the moment so you should be ok. If your son can go too it's probably best if he does; TIT an' all that! ????

Be sure to park BEHIND the building where parking is free and ample.
