It was lower 2 and a half months ago. You need to add a filter for Antipodean hyperbole to your mind. They tend to overuse it. The level of hyperbole can be roughly gauged by the use of the words, "mate" and "oath". The frequency of their use and the level of the hyperbole are approximately proportional. In addition, Australian tv channels add an extra twist to the hyperbole by delivering it in inappropriate circumstances like news broadcasts. They are unable to help themselves. Of course if, as I suspect, you yourself are one of them, you won't notice as you'll be just as bad.

so, poms speak perfect English! Not in the parts I've visited. Just watched BBC report on Brexit, the pound has taken a dive. Research cobber, research.

It's gone down and up and will continue until England politicians get a grip and prepare for no deal, TM should not be in the frame any longer.
