Wouldnt it make sense to ask that in the Chiang Mai forum ?

Yes, it would. That is what I thought I did.

Soi Suthep has a lot of medical stores. I got a knee brace down there after a twist on a run. Depends if you want a walking stick or an old traditional cane? Antique shop?

I bought a 60 baht one Dyso Central Festival (they're at a few locations). I found it sturdy enough although could be a bit longer. Plenty good ones available online (Shopee, Lazada, Ali Express etc) and a 60 Baht one may well cover until the better one arrives.

Try to get an all terrain walking stick if you plan on walking on the pavement. More often than not the pavement becomes a tree, a road, a motorbike lane, ditch and any number of things that a normal walking stick might struggle to navigate.
