I will be quitting AseanNow
A 25% cut to Social Security does not mean a 25% cut to one’s benefits. Eliminating fraud, efficiency improvements, raising the age, allowing people to opt-out, move SSI to a different departments, raise payroll taxes, any number of things could be done. -

Trump's Climate Rollbacks and Renewed Fossil Fuel Push
Yes, drill baby drill. And as the climate gets worse, close or defund all those Marxist, Leninist, Stalinist socialist, pinky parts of government that may try to save the lives of those affected by natural disasters using national taxes! Kill FEMA, police and fire departments, Medicare, the National Weather Service forever. Who needs them? Don't know what came over me. Go back to what you were doing. -

IP configuration problem: can't connect to wifi in room but it does connect in hotel lobby
Hi, I'm staying at my usual apartment/hotel in Chachoengsao. It seems they've updated their wifi system from last year so that I can't connect my laptop or my Android phone in the room although I can connect on the main floor restaurant without a problem. The signal is fairly strong in my room so that shouldn't be a factor. It seems to be an ip address problem as the error message I get is the network "doesn't have a valid ip configuration." While there is zero connectivity with the Windows laptop, the phone did manage to get an intermittent connection but it usually only lasts for a minute to two before cutting out again. I've tried setting up a static IP address but there are some settings on their network that Windows 10 is rejecting. I told the staff and they rebooted the system but it didn't do anything. I've had some similar connectivity problems in other hotels in Thailand as the wifi can be wonky, to say the least. Any ideas on how to fix this? -
