Good to se we can focus on top 4 again without getting worried about United.  Wolves were good last night, but Fred and Smalling mistakes gave them the win.

Maybe "Ole's off the wheel" will be the new chant at the end of the season.

Im looking forward to the City fans chanting "Ole's under the wheel" when he's axed.

So me  being stupid just for clarity if man city win the champs lge and finish top or second the top 4  them inc get champs lge places

If a top 4 team win the europa lge.it remains the top 4 get champs lge   if a team outside the top 4 wins the europa lge it becomes the top 3 get champs lge places? Is that right .. so no matter what the prem is limited to 4 spots?  ..

I always thought he looked uncomfortable with the ball but if he's another Scholes I'll have to take another  look.

Remember scholes started upfront for utd.. needs a diferent and arguably a better skill set for that..my take on this guy is he's a worker bit in the mold of the last scots boy that captained utd .. solid but arguably not spectacular  but always hapi to be proved wrong esp when young talents concerned.

Not quite.... if a team from outside the top 4 wins the Champions League, only the top 3 get CL places.

If a team from outside the top 4 wins the Europa, them + the top 4 get CL places.

Only four Clubs from one Country can play in the CL though , so, Spurs will miss out on a CL spot, when either Chelsea or Arsenal win the Europa league

Afraid not mate. When United won the Europa there were 5 English teams in it. 4th place + us in the qualifiers, 1-3 straight to the groups.

To repeat...unlike the CL winners, the slot for winning the Europa is exclusive of those 4 places

Not from next season  , an Europa league winner will take the place of the team that finished fourth (If the EL winner doesnt finish top 4)

Listen son you're getting way ahead of yourself. Get promoted and beat a couple of big teams, now you want to be in the big boy discussion. It's nothing new, Hudders did it last season. Where are they now.

Look I know it's been an emotional 24 hours for you. Take some rest, eat some faggots or whatever your weird food is, and when you wake up tomorrow, remind yourself in the cold light of day you support Wolves. Who haven't been a big club since the 1720s.

Yes, but we were talking about next seasons Champions league and who would qualify if an English team won this season Europa league

Fair enough.. @BangrakBob says differently, I can't be bothered researching at this late hour, so I'll believe whoever comes up with the official source!

From the 2018–19 season, the UEFA Europa League winners will gain entry to the UEFA Champions League in the group stage.[4]

Also from that season, if English clubs win both the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League, and neither finish the Premier League in a position that qualifies them for the UEFA Champions League, the following will happen:

  • The club that won the UEFA Champions League will go straight into the group stage
  • The UEFA Europa League winners will go into the UEFA Champions League group stage
  • The club that finished fourth in the Premier League will transfer into the UEFA Europa League

Isn't that open to interpretation....  it says if English clubs win both.. So are we sure that doesn't mean if say 5th place wins the CL and 6th place wins the EL?

Sanemax is usually accurate.

Actually mate if you click that little 5... The source is an article which asks the question... Can 6 Eng teams qualify for the CL? But we aren't discussing that scenario.

I never miss a game and this 2 hours difference makes life much easier now.

BTW. Every City fan watches the game, it's just that we're a small club and don't have many fans

I think the point you are trying to make is lost on everyone!  The reason there is a big six is because over the season they are consistently "far" better than the rest.  The point you are attempting to dispute is indisputable

Typical arrogont comments we expect from a ManU fan.

Keep on posting Benroon. We all know wolves have been excellent and have caused big problems for all top 6 clubs this season but have let themselves down vs lower clubs. Get the 2nd part right and you'll be challenging european places. Wolves' not ManU's football has been better to watch this season.

So to clear this up with an easier explanation:-

Could the fourth-placed Premier League team miss out on Champions League?

Yes, but there is only one way in which this can happen.

The fourth placed Premier League team will miss out on a spot in the Champions League if English teams outside the top four win both the Champions League and Europa League.

That means if, for example, Arsenal were to finish fourth but Chelsea and Manchester United were to finish below them and win the Champions League and Europa League respectively, they would miss out on the top four.

Come on, Wolves have been more enjoyable to watch than United most of this season.

Planned attack on the PL has been done to perfection. Huddersfield weren't even close to this level last season, 11 points better than them already with 6 games to go.

Your salty meter is off the charts!

And they've just signed a cracking striker for a bargain price.

Best we open a Wolverhampton Wanderers thread Rick, would you like to do the honours?

I wonder if they fancy doubling their money on said striker. And if he fancies doubling his wages.

Wolves' owner is quite a bit richer than United's. That's why they in the EPL and will be for the foreseeable.
