Popular Post sfokevin
Just wanted to relay my experience of updating my TM30 at the new Chiang Mai Immigration after returning from Christmas in Bagan Myanmar... I went at mid afternoon on a Thursday and pulled into the front parking lot on the chance a parking spot was available and was in luck (if parking is full exit back on the street and do a U turn and park across the street in the massage place parking lot - 20baht)... Once inside Immigration go to the right stairwell up to the third floor. at the top of the stairs was a young lady who was handing out queue numbers (she gave me 97)... and directed me to go thru the glass doors (that say “Staff Only”?) and to the right where there was seating... Two ladies were manning computer and only one other person was there being helped with queue 96... So the free lady asked for my passport and I said I needed update.... She smiled and typed a few thing into the computer - No forms or Copies of anything needed. All relatively painless... Btw Bagan was an excellent 4 day Christmas adventure with Bangkok Air having a direct one hour flight to Mandalay that was 8k round trip! EL159
Nothing to get excited about here. TM30 has never been more than a 5 minute job.

I posted it more as a helpful reminder for those traveling abroad over the holidays and a how to/where to go at the new immigration facility... eyecatcher
Its not a waste of time. I was there also yesterday to renew my annual. Was sent upstairs for certain execution. Never updated mine despite two foreign trips, got away with it, seemingly for three years. I was fined 1600bt and expected it, the worst was having to tell the wife, my laziness, and no one else to blame. A bit of a blow really, seems the staff there are now on top of their game...efficiency and discipline and no nonsense.

Great to hear, those people have had to put up with far to much nonsense for years.

If so she owes you 1600baht. ????
AAArdvark
So, in Chiang Mai at least, you need nothing but your passport for an update with a foreign trip? Does this also apply for a domestic trip with a hotel?

At the moment CM do not require/want TM30 from domestic trips, only overseas. But like anything here it could change tomorrow.
