Townsvillians in Thailand ?

Featured Replies

Just wondering if there are any ex Townsvillians residing in Thailand that have been affected by the current mass flooding taking place in Townsville ?? I personally left Townsville 26 years ago but have sons & grandchildren there.

A Towns villians would not be liked much here. ????

Me thinks your joke didn't catch on.

My Thai wife is currently staying in Townsville. She is staying in a high rise self contained apartment on The Strand which costs $150 per week. That area has not been affected by flooding, but the constant rain over the last 10 days makes it hard to get out and about. She is working for a friend in a Thai restaurant, but business is slow on account of the rain.

She will fly out when the airport reopens on Sunday.

Yes the Strand and North Ward have been spared by the floods but she has a good Coles supermarket in North Ward behind the Seaview Hotel. I have one son in a high rise in Pimlico and another on the Island and luckily both were spared from the floods.

I lived in Townsville for a while in the mid 80's up on the hill above the hospital in the big old apartment block that used to be there. Also lived in Charters Towers back in 95 when I worked on  Gold Mine there.
