Bloody hell, UK. You need a mini Cabinet revolt merely to stop yourselves from committing suicide?   I have made this comment before and will repeat it now...   Never before have I

  • Good for them. It's about time people stood up to the ERG and DUP zealots that are pushing the UK off a cliff.

We had no choice of course and it's a mystery to me that the Germans allowed us to leave. The Americans waiting over two years until Hitler declared war on them before joining in didn't help. I don't think our generals covered themselves with honour (except Slim). We should be grateful to The Few pilots and the pointy heads who protected us in the dark days.

It must have been terrifying for the French. I suspect I would have collaborated. Not sure I would have had the intestinal fortitude to be heroic.

Yes, in all fairness the Americans were a little late in joining us, but ever since then the wars they undertook they tended to be very prompt and more often than not, early.

But I can only take people as I find them, where I lived they were very pro British, and in all my time in France I cannot remember any incident where the French have been other than cordiale, and from somebody from West Yorkshire getting a peck on the cheek from a Frenchman was very alien to me.

But hopefully, we are leaving the EU and not Europe.

If the UK were to remain in the EU the Pound would go. Remainers can't see much past their noses.

fine by me,but we wont join at €1.60/£1.00 like we would of before though, sadly the UK and its currency have lost out to the superior Euro in the last 20 years.

Bilateral sideline meeting between May and Tusk today (yesterday?).

Tusk opines that as matters stands it would probably be a good idea to delay Brexit.

The reference is very vivid on these Brexit threads with countless remain arguments calling brexiteers, as those who eat/drink at Wetherspoons (spoonies) and those who go on holiday to Benidorm Benny. Indicating that they are uneducated and somewhat ignorant of life and facts. Totally baseless, as are many arguments from some remainers.

Well at least we have my upmarket trips to Torremelinos and Southend Pier to balance things out

That was not our finest hour. Many of those men went through the horror story of Japanese capture ... I’d bet if they had known what was in front of them they would have fought them to the death.

Rather silly comments. Maybe if both of you ever bother to study the fighting both in Singapore and Hong Kong you wouldn't be so glib.

Plenty of UK residents registered to vote who spend a substantial part of the year in Thailand. Nothing to do with you unless you have been appointed to change the voting laws.

Totally disagree with that comment. The vote wasn't about electing a government, it was about changing the status of citizens, all British passport holders. As I was in Thailand at the time of the vote I had no right to vote, but that vote revoked my right to be an EU citizen. I should have had the right to participate.

It was a humiliating surrender. And is widely recognised as such. Would have been better to take them on.

Would these be the same experts, who predicted that we would have monitory meltdown if we did not join the E.U. And then went on to predict an economic disaster, should the British people in 2016,Democratically vote to leave this so called union.

And let’s not forget that these same experts failed to predict the 2008 economic crash.

So These predictions are nothing more than their own opinions.

Try to avoid setting up a series of straw men to knock down. As for 2008, the nature of financial crises is that by their nature are unpredictable. They rhyme but rarely repeat in the same way. Lots of argument as to whether the signs were sufficiently there prior, but no excuse for now throwing the analytical baby out with the bathwater. It is this embracing of know-nothing stupidity by Brexiteers which causes others to label them uneducated dolts. Resist the temptation.

I read up quite thoroughly on Malaya and Singapore thank you. Hong Kong? No idea. What happened?

So easy to tell others in hindsight to throw away their lives after the battle is lost. Shameful.

Many were enslaved, treated worse than soi dogs, and never made it home, and many of those that made it home bore the psychological damage. Would have been better to fight them to the death. No shame in that.

no one needs to be an expert to predict what brexit will bring and 2008 has nothing to do with brexit.

Do you think that Tusk has an ulterior motive for wanting the UK to delay brexit, infact anybody that wants to delay brexit, doesn't want brexit.

The Dutch PM Mark Rutte has a different take on extending art 50.

OK. So before we are dolts, we are already know-nothings and stupid. This is a classic example of the regular abuse typically emitted from low-level remainers. Thankyou.
