Australian embassy location

Featured Replies

Just looking at google maps and says Australian Embassy Witthayu road, but looks like it set quite away back off the road.

Have an appointment there early next week and want to make sure 100% where I am going.

Anyone been there recently? Do I enter from Wireless Road or is there a lane off Witthayu or something?

Best way to get there from Lumpini MRT?

While I haven't been in the building, I have been in the soi. (The French Embassy is in the same soi.)

The entrance to the Aus. Embassy is from the soi. "Wireless Rd." is the English translation of Witthayu Rd.The little soi which is marked "Wireless Rd." on your map is unnamed.

Take exit 3 from Lumpini MRT. Walk past the moto guys on the corner and go right. It's about 300 mts to the road that leads to the Australian Embassy. If you pass an entrance with writing in Japanese you've gone too far. Change the Google Map view to street view if you want more clarity.

I fly into Don Meuang airport and catch bus #5, it drops you at wireless road(you have to let them know you want to get off there) and you walk a 100 metres down the road and its on the left, if your lucky there is a white tuk tuk there to drop you off

So the entrance to the embassy is from Wireless Road, not Witthayu Road (which is their address)

Out of the MRT, turn right into Witthayu.....then right into Wireless right?

The Thai name is Witthayu.

Witthayu is the Thai word for radio or wireless.

Hence Witthayu becomes Wireless in English

Once again:  "Witthayu Road" and "Wireless" Road are one and the same. I don't know why this road has an English-language name (in addition to its Thai name), but it does. If directing a taxi driver, refer to it as Witthayu. It is the major north -south road which borders Lumphini Park. To the best of my knowledge, the little soi/driveway which is labelled "Wireless Road" on your map has no name. The entrance to the Aus. Embassy is from this little soi.
