  • There are several substitutes for metoprolol, and it would be possible to switch until a time when metoprolol comes back in, but I'm not going to post medical advice on here for obvious reasons. I am

  • There are 6-7 brands of this with different manufacturers. They will not all be out of stock. Boots usually has just one brand of things (if they have it at all). Fascino also may carry just 1 or 2

  • Still no metoprolol in the UK, pharmacists have been advised that supply issues will continue for a few months.

It is metaprolol but not cheap at Bumrungrad

Metoprolol Succinate Er (extended release)  or metoprolol tartrate still have availability problems in Thailand? I am going back to Thailand soon for extended stay.
Thanks in advance for any useful responses
I'm not aware that there was ever a problem with metoprolol tartrate availability here. Brands are Cardeloc, Melol, Metoprolol 100 Stada and Metoprolo 200 Stada Retard which is extended release.

No Succinate form available.

For several months Peera Pharmacy in Chiang Mai couldn't get the Metoprolol 100 Stada and supplied Betaloc 100 instead, which was a pain to cut with a pill splitter since I need just 25 mg daily.  The Metoprolol is scored very nicely into quarters; no pill splitter required.  Now the Metoprolol 100 Stada is back in stock.

Never a need to buy either of these meds from an expensive hospital pharmacy.
