Samut Sakhon police are hunting for a police senior sergeant major that allegedly shot dead a man in front of his police station out of suspicion that he was his wife’s lover.

Muang Samut Sakhon police chief Pol Colonel Jirawut Tanthasi said the suspected killer of Kawit Muanchu, 37, is Pol Sr Sgt-Major Pakkapon Samitanon, 46, who worked at the station.

Kawit was shot dead on a sidewalk in front of the Muang Samut Sakhon police station at 5.30am on Wednesday.

A witness told police that Kawit was seen quarrelling with another man before a woman tried to intervene and the other man then emptied his gun on him. Kawit was shot seven times and died at the scene.

Jirawut told reporters at 9.30am that police had interrogated the woman and learned that she is Pakkapon’s wife.

Jirawut said Kawit was a driver for Somchai Seafoods company, and Pakkapon’s wife also worked there. Pakkapon seemingly discovered a week ago that Kawit was chatting romantically with the officer’s wife via Line and Facebook Messenger apps.

The chat logs prompted Pakkapon to suspect that his wife was having an intimate relationship with Kawit, and so he called him to a talk in front of the police station.

Jirawut said police are checking security-camera footage in the province to try to locate the policeman’s escape route and would step up pressure for Pakkapon to surrender.

Jirawut said he would not protect Pakkapon and would deal with the case fairly.

He added that his police station would soon seek an arrest warrant against Pakkapon.

What a stupid man. He should have had serious talk with his wife about "the romantic Line and fakebook chats".

If he for some reson felt the urge to shoot someone, he should have shot his wife. Now she'll be free to chat with 30 million males in Thailand without being confronted by her husband. Stupid man.

So you mean it OK to shot his wife just because she flirting???

I agree with you he is stupid but to say if he urge to shot someone it should be the wife it bad why not shot himself???

Good morning all !.... here is what my immagination made me post this morning.

You meet this hot, long haired, well filled hottie in that bar. She starts the usual stuff and you feel so hansum.

The remnerated (or not) boum boum sessions and other socialisation starts. But what is ignored is that she is married to some psycho (a real life psycho that is, not one of the TVF bickerers ????). The psycho finds out, pulls out his toy and comes to boum boum you,  but with lead. Getting almost dangerous around here to date a Thai ? ? .......bad for business.

The bar stool girlie unions should really do something about this !!

No it's not ok, but if he must shoot someone, the best option would be to shoot his wife.

The best options would be to either leave her or resolve the differences they have peacefully or ignore it all.

Shooting his wife is not the best option in this scenario.

What frightens me more is that a police officer legally entitled to carry a GUN , has limited mental ability in how he should use it, and there are 250,000 of this chaps around all legally entitled and persumably a good percentage no mentally sane . FRIGHTENING

Should have packed her clothes & delivered them to the lovers house... if wants her he can have her ...

plenty more fish in the sea...

now she gets to do what she wants & he's banged up for murder !!

Thai logic.

Logical people do that but in Thailand we kill first and then ask questions.
