Breaking !! Fire at Central World, the cause started of the 7th floor

Terrible, lets hope everyone survives.

Disturbing news !... pray thatthe number of casualties does not rise. All the best to the fire fighters doing their job.

Looks very scary however.

No intent to speculate, but in 2010 it was in flames with intentional arson perpetrated by social unrests and protests.

Just been past Central World, it looks to be out now, but there's a video on line of a poor soul having to jump out of the window.  What a terrible choice to have to make.

I was shown the video by one of our office team - wish I hadn't seen it.

Traffic on Rama 1, Soi Chidlom and Ratchdamri is very slow.

One killed from fire at hotel in heart of Bangkok

A fire broke out at Centara Grand@CentralWorld Hotel at Bangkok’s Ratchaprasong Intersection on Wednesday afternoon.

Flames and smoke from the blaze at a documents storage room on the eighth floor of the hotel was visible from a distance, sending people dashing to the hotel’s parking space in panic to get their cars out. The incident worsened the already heavy traffic in the intersection, which was also crowded by bystanders.
