Merry Xmas and best of the seasons greeting to all who come visiting the thread.

It's been an enjoyable year, bit of fun, a few barneys, plenty of laughs.

Chimpy has broken early and already given me my Xmas present. It has been a dream of mine for a while.

Police drop the Martin investigation, stating "Tracy" would not make a statement to them, going on they the police say after viewing film which was reported to not have been on but apparently was and after interviewing patrons and staff decided there was nothing reportable in this matter.

We know from the past the AFL and football clubs carry some weight we also know players are often targets, most people know engaging with a drunk patron is only going to go one way, I'm more than sure there's more in it but at the same time I stand on what I said in the past, time proved me right, she would have been leaned on, next time your out honey mind your own business.

Well, guess we will have to wait and see what type of penalty Richmond will impose now.

They're still under some pressure to give him a reasonable whack.

Roos looking outside the box, headline in the age footy section this morning, that's the Dee's coach there talking about jo, Goodwin to have more control etc etc, a restructure took place in coaching there and again just filler for hungry eyes.

Danks to get payout, yep he's started the process of sueing first cab off the rank with an expected payout of 50 big ones is from that small paper the herald sun for deformation claiming he was sourcing or something like that from bikie and known drug groups....I recon this guy isn't as dumb as he's made out to be and with his reputation in absolute tatters will go after each one bit by bit.

So bored is the paper there running things like the best come from behind games of the bombers yesterday, they left out one were we the Dee's were killing them by about 8 goals then at the 10 min mark of the third quarter they moved up a gear and rolled us buy a cool 60 points, seen Ronald Dales north do that to us at least once too.

Rather frustrating writing here with any apple product they have a mind of there own, if not diligent they auto correct to what're ever it likes....American English? But hey, no more adware malware or virus soooo I roll my eyes and try to remember to check cause Apple is saving me money, serious I was getting Windows reinstalled at least once a year and I have 2 Windows laptops.

In my opinion, GWS is a good bet for Top 8 at $2.50. Gold Coast lost Bennell and Charlie Dixon, but seem good value also.

Sydney 6th favourite for the premiership...and fair enough too.

The big surprises are Port and Geelong

and

North, Collingwood, Adelaide

Here are the early betting markets for the AFL...

attachicon.gifAFlPremiers.png

Us 3rd last......ummmmm.....looks like they use end of season ladder positions thats hardly scientific hey fellas?

Hawks won't get 4 on the trott....in fact i think they will be lucky to finnish top 4.

The only predictions I'm making and there overwriting my previous predictions on the new season is....Hawks going down and Dees going up by around the magic number of 4 which sees them there birdies slipping and us knocking on heavens door.

It's the punters who are dictating the odds

Looks like things are looking up if your looking down over there at punt road.

Where It All Began: McVeigh and Jack

Jarrad McVeigh and Kieren Jack head back to the Pennant Hills football club where they played their junior footy

(One small error in the video: The video has the players talking about playing on the oval at Pennant Hills, but shows their junior highlights at what looks like Cherrybrook Oval)

West Coast recruit Lewis Jetta hopes for Eagle embrace after war dance

LEWIS Jetta hopes West Coast fans understand why he performed an indigenous war dance at an Eagles home match last season and embrace him as one of their own following his trade from the Sydney Swans.

Jetta stunned the Domain Stadium crowd when he celebrated a goal with a war cry in round 17 as a show of support for teammate Adam Goodes, amid the polarising booing controversy that had engulfed the now-retired Swans champion.

Speaking to The West Australian newspaper, Jetta said he had grown frustrated at Goodes' treatment and wanted to make a stand about the issue.

War cry was Jetta's call for respect

“Nothing was happening and up close I could see with Goodesy, some days he was fighting and just putting on a brave face,” Jetta said.

“All the other clubs had been doing it in the previous games and I just got sick of it.

"There were racist people and then there were others who didn’t know what they were booing for. Then you could see kids copying what their parents were doing and it was like a domino effect.

“I was thinking about it for a while and I had to make a stand. It triggered and sparked a whole conversation.”

I think he is over the sulks now.

Hopefully the trade is good for both of us.

There is talk that Sinclair could be the ruckman of the century

  • Popular Post

I would have preferred we kept Sinclair at West Coast personally.

Seems a big risk swapping a bloke that had a good season and improved a lot for a bloke that had a crap season and seemed to go down hill.

And then we go pick up a ruckman that couldn't get a game at his two previous clubs.

Swans star Luke Parker set to be locked away with new deal

THE SYDNEY Swans are "really close" to locking away star midfielder Luke Parker via a contract extension.

Parker, 23, attracted attention from every club at the end of last season, when it was rumoured the Victorian might depart Sydney.

But in a major fillip for the Swans, football manager Tom Harley said Parker is set to put pen to paper on a deal tying him to the club beyond the 2016 season.

"We're really close," Harley told radio station SEN.

"He's the youngest player ever to be voted into the Swans' leadership group and he's an integral part of our future, both on and off the field.

"He's exactly the type of player you want at your club. On the field he's ruthless and competitive and off the field he really drives the troops.

"We've had fantastic leaders in (Jarrad) McVeigh, Kieren Jack and Josh Kennedy and Luke's the next one to bridge that gap before we get to the really young ones in Callum Mills and Isaac Heeney.

"We're very confident Luke will be with us for a long time."

In more positive news for Swans fans, Lance Franklin "hasn't missed a beat" this pre-season after stepping away from playing in last year's finals series.

Harley said the superstar forward's mental health issues will be ongoing but, apart from minor finger surgery, Franklin is fighting fit.

"He's going really well," Harley said.
