Seems inevitable the start of the season will be delayed I think.

Make it a 17 round season where everybody plays each other once?

You tipped it Will. Fed Govt to ban all mass gatherings from Monday16th

AFL games to be played in empty staduims chaps.....the Gov in all its wisdom has banned gatherings of more than 500 from next monday,  therefore im expecting Dr Gaz might have it right if thats the case good chance that there wont be spectators at games the entire season .....how would that be....

Now if i can find how to do it i WILL try and run a thingo here gees my mind is a blanch..

Gees how to do here.....i want to start a poll.....we can nominate how long we thing the season WILL remain spectator free....

Thank you Alex for the title Dr Gaz.  My money is on no matches this year.  The Virus is not expected to peak until August which is the normal high for the flu season.  So if they carry on not having mass attendees at events then AFL definitely fits the bill.  It is still early days in Australia so the spread is not bad but it is ramping up.  If this gets into the Aboriginal communities this will devastate them due to their existing heath issues.

It will come down to the financial decision of the AFL but again my money is on this going longer than a few weeks and decisions should not be made about mass events until after August

Well just announced the SFL games will go ahead but with not spectators.  Be interesting how this goes but wait and see need to rethink tips I think

What is SFL games?

England has suspended football matches until April 3 news came in over night, Spain and Italy have suspended matches too...

NBA and NCAA in the US also...and what of the Olympic Games meant to start in July?

Arsenal coach and a Chelsea player have caught the virus...

Dr Gaz is hinting that the AFL season could be Called off all together....my guess if not soon then maybe later since the virus loves the cold....

https://edition.cnn.com/2020/03/13/football/premier-league-suspension-spt-intl/index.html

Peter Dutton the man who would be king but didnt make it is self isolating after contacting the virus...he by the way had just recently met Ivana Trump Donalds mrs and a chap named Barr so you know....

Well this WILL <deleted> Demon supporters off....redemption we had planned and not to mention whats to watch on the telly? or streaming servers......our march to the flag disrupted....I was so looking forward to stitching up West Coast next week....

Well I estimate I have about 6 weeks worth of toilet paper left in the house...Oh dear...better pop into Bunnings this morning and get a bag of rags before they disappear too, and I bought a new battery Makita planner during the week....Bunnings are low on stock and this particular model seems popular as I tried to buy it before xrisie, well it came to me that supplies have been disrupted as I had to phone around to find out who had stock...so you can guess what else is being disrupted....if we though Aussies were being silly buying up 3 ys supplies of toilet paper they WILL soon be able to sell for it for like a gram of gold for a roll....by the way Wollies have said they WILL not refund customers who return toilet paper pasta and a few other things they did a run on....

Well we can now expect silly things in the supermarkets, the picture painted of Covid-19 WILL begin to un nerve even the more sensible minds, any more dramatic news I dare say and the preppies WILL hop in there 4wheelie bin drives and head for the hills where they stashed 2 years of food and live underground until this blows over....of course if it really got bad id rather die with the rest of you than being found alive by a hungry mob with 2 ys of food in my dug out...imaging what they would do to you...its not like they would want to share it with you hey?

I think you are right Dr Gaz
There would be a high risk of spreading the virus among the players themselves or the coaching/support staff if the games go ahead. No way to avoid constant contact, and all the players go back to the general population after a game.

Meanwhile, fans were locked out of the Aussie v Kiwi ODI at the SCG yesterday.

I'd imagine having no home crowd would be to Melbourne's advantage in the first game Uncle Alex.

They certainly give us a lift.

I bet a lot of businesses go to the wall as well.

We're living in uncertain times alright.

Steven May at Melbourne would be very interested in purchasing them

Yes the Covid-19 is going to do to the world what Trump and Putin combined couldnt do....

Im even betting that at some point the AFL WILL cancel or postpone games...pretty much wipe out the season, so the Dee's might have to only play just over a third of the season to be named premiers.....yippie.....but you know the longer its dragged out the more sweeter it is....after what 60ys we get dealt a short season.....its just not on....

Ps WILL....it did cross my mind an empty Octopus statuim would more like help than hinder, though the Dee's have won there often enough to not think its a Hoodo guro thing....

Yes young fella i was out a good part of the day and evening, supermarket wars are on tomorrow....i WILL buy my pasta from the continental deli near by the supermarket, picked up 500g of it last week thats a months supply for me WILL top up with another 500g today that means i

can have pasta once a week for the next 10 weeks as i have 2 meals in the ice box, its all good quality Italian egg pasta not the wheat <deleted> they serve in restaurants in Thailand and call a pasta dish...

I wont go chasing toilet rolls mainly for the reason i dont want to get bailed up by some old duck an get hit with her unbrella casue i wont hand it over....rags from bunnings WILL do the trick...yes a couple of blocks of cheese its a staple here and cho loves it...no vegimite not into that muck  since i was like 12....

I take the view if it runs out i WILL make do with something else.....rice..well you know i bough that riceberry you suggested and the smallest quantity was 2 kilos....plus i had bought 1 kgs of the brown rice 2 weeks before got 20 kgs of dog food i wont let cho eat as it gives him the runs he is back to the preimum brand so i got plenty of rice and dry dog food if it comes to that kid...

You would think so.  5 day turnarounds for interstate teams would add to the injuries. Maybe best to play them all on the MCG where it can advantage the Melbourne teams.  Give Alex's boys a real chance to win this year.

But then again, 5 day turnarounds will give us more viewing pleasure in OZ as we are placed in total lockdown.  Local Farmer's market was cancelled today
