I know you are well intended, so I'll try not to offend...but do you really think I haven't read it? I, as most atheists, know more about it than most believers. Not because I was ever religious, required, or a believer...but rather because it's fascinating that others are. I am more moral than the thing you worship.

The Abramhamic god of Judaism, Christianity and Islam (all the same) is simply awful and even if It did exist...would want nothing to do with It. Richard Dawkins describes It best...

'...the most unpleasant character in all fiction: jealous and proud of it; a petty, unjust, unforgiving control-freak; a vindictive, bloodthirsty ethnic cleanser; a misogynistic, homophobic, racist, infanticidal, genocidal, filicidal, pestilential, megalomaniacal, sadomasochistic, capriciously malevolent bully.'

I could not possibly agree more.

And please spare me the New Covenant BS. That's a cop out. Your god claims to be perfect and unchanging. Can't have the New Testament without the Old and your JC said he did not come to change the old law, but to uphold it...every jot and tittle. No cherry picking either.

What you're offering is Pascal's Wager which goes...even if you don't believe, pretend you do, by fooling god, to avoid burning for all eternity in a lake of fire, and con your way into heaven. Any god would see right through such a ruse, so all the pretenders, of which are many, are in for the big slow roast too!

Can't choose beliefs anyway bro. I can't make myself believe something I don't...nobody can. And I have zero interest in believing ridiculous, magical, mystical superstition...which is exactly what it is.

su·per·sti·tion
/ˌso͞opərˈstiSH(ə)n/
noun
  1. excessively credulous belief in and reverence for supernatural beings.

How do you explain away all the prophecies in the Bible?

Who's fabrication is that ? Who said that Jesus said ? The New Testament has nothing to do with the Old.

Why are they in the same book with the same author listed as god?

then give thought to the prophecies in the Bible, and the historical facts mentioned in the Bible that has been proven to be true

There are no accurate, meaningful prophecies...just crowbarred in to fit current events by those looking for a fit. Shoehorn much! Same thing as fortune tellers and astrology. Generalizations which people try to make fit, because they buy into such tripe.

And just because there are some historical facts and references in the old, tired, dying book of horrors doesn't get anyone any closer to evidence of anything Divine or supernatural. Zilch. Zero. Nada.

There are none. They are merely the spin subsequent generations have put on what was previously written

I think about 27% of the Bible are Prophecies.  Since you have read the Bible, these should look familiar to you.  Here are some of the Prophecies currently being fulfilled.  They look accurate to me.

The Jewish people will be regathered in unbelief from the four corners of the earth (Isaiah 11:11-12). Fulfillment: 20th Century and continuing.

The state of Israel will be re-established (Isaiah 66:7-8 & Ezekiel 37:21-22). Fulfillment: May 14, 1948.

The Jews will once again re-occupy the city of Jerusalem (Zechariah 8:4-8), Fulfillment: June 7, 1967.

The land of Israel will be reclaimed from its desolation, becoming once again a land of agricultural abundance (Ezekiel 36:34-35). Fulfillment: 20th Century and continuing.

The Hebrew language will be revived from the dead (Zephaniah 3:9). Fulfillment: 19th & 20th Centuries.

All the nations of the world will come together against Israel over the issue of the control of Jerusalem (Zechariah 12:1-3). Fulfillment: Currently occurring.

None???  Well Little Bunny, I think you are mistaken.  About 27% of the Bible are Prophecies.  Here are some of the Prophecies currently being fulfilled.  They don't look like spin to me.

I'm sure you're better than this.

I'm not. I've actually been showing off my polite side here! :vampire:

If presenting errors with facts and accurate sources requested is immature or calling strawman arguments, diversions and BS for what they are is low...then guilty as charged! I'm not running for office nor POTY.

Right, we should all just bow down to you superior wisdom and end all discussions right here right now.
And if someone dares having a different opinion, we'll shout him down as an ignorant, gullible clown.
Yeah, that'll work.

Thanks for enlightening us!

Yes..that is the problem, and is,in actual fact, what happens on so many of these topics..

You know.. Beethoven,revolutionary curmudgeon as he was,was once asked "Where does your music come from?"

His simple response was "It comes from God"

Hardly.

You wrongly stated New Testament has nothing to to with Old when everyone on Earth, believer and non alike, know it clearly does. That was doozy, even for you.

You also wrongly accused me of fabricating and implied that JC never said such things. When presented with clear evidence of actual line and verse from every version of the book dubbled The Holy Bible...you gave some nonsense retort and diverted. So how, pray tell, am I a troll?

We're never gonna agree on these. What u see as specific, I see as vague. What u see as fulfillment, I see as shoehorning to make the vague fit into the actual history. I kinda covered this in a previous post. Plus, there are pleny of  unfulfilled "prophecies", which are conveniently left out. You're a believer...I'm not.

It is, however, interesting how Christians are so deeply enamored with Judaism and the oxymoron JudeoChristian...when Jews don't accept JC as the son of God, nor Divine in any way. How is that teenie weenie little difference rationalized? Here's some Judeo beliefs on Jesus...

The short answer: Judaism does not consider Jesus to be a prophet, the messiah, or the son of God.

Jews do not accept Jesus as the messiah because:

  1. Jesus did not fulfill the messianic prophecies.
  2. Jesus did not embody the personal qualifications of the Messiah.
  3. Biblical verses "referring" to Jesus are mistranslations.
  4. Jewish belief is based on national revelation.

I'm in complete agreement with you. There's no god, but the universe is teeming with life, and until we stop killing each other, the advanced life forms in this universe will not allow us to expand, and rightly so!

These are some of the Prophecies I left out that is yet to be fulfilled.  It is hard for me to believe how anyone can read the Bible and not see it is the word of God.  Anyway, this is what is coming our way.

  1. The Arab nations of the world will attack Israel in a coordinated effort to annihilate the state (Psalm 83).
  2. Israel will soundly defeat the Arab alliance (Zechariah 12:6).
  3. Israel will dwell in security and prosperity (Ezekiel 38:11).
  4. A Russian coalition consisting mainly of Muslim nations will invade Israel (Ezekiel 38:1-17).
  5. The Russian coalition will be destroyed supernaturally by God (Ezekiel 38:18-23 & 39:1-8).
  6. The Antichrist will intervene and guarantee the security of Israel, enabling the Jews to rebuild their Temple (Daniel 9:27).
  7. At the end of three and a half years, the Antichrist will enter the rebuilt Temple in Jerusalem and declare himself to be God (Daniel 9:27, Matthew 24:15-18, & 2 Thessalonians 2:3-4).
  8. The Jews will reject the Antichrist, and he will respond with an attempt to annihilate them, killing two-thirds of them in the process (Revelation 12:13-17 & Zechariah 13:8-9).
  9. At the end of the Tribulation, when the Jews have come to the end of themselves, they will turn to God and receive Yeshua as their Messiah (Zechariah 12:10, Romans 9:27-28, & Romans 11:25-27).
  10. Jesus will return and regather all believing Jews to Israel (Deuteronomy 30:1-9).
  11. Israel will be established as the prime nation in the world (Isaiah 2:1-4 & Micah 4:1-7).
  12. The Lord will bless the Jewish remnant by fulfilling all the promises He has made to Israel (Isaiah 60:1-62:7).

And Santa Claus ???? is coming to town!

:sorry:

Hard for me to see how anyone can read it and believe it. Even the Israelis don't believe it! From a survey 4 years back...

With 65 percent, Israel has surprisingly many citizens who consider themselves not religious or to be atheists. According to Israeli newspaper Haaretz, atheism is deeply entrenched in the country's society.
