First rain in SanSai, Chiang Mai, since January.

Featured Replies

At least, the first rain at my house just off the 118. Started about 3:30, a light sprinkle continues a few minutes after 4pm. Electricity just went off as I typed the previous sentence. Temperature has dropped from 39 to 33C. Keeping my fingers crossed for some more.

Storm ripped through Sanphakwan...with decent dump of rain and took the power with it.

Think there will be a lot of damage to clean up. Don't expect electric back on for some time.

...and a hailstorm. First time I have ever seen hail in Chiang Mai.

The CM Governor will be pleased.

Our glorious PMs thoughts & prayers have been answered!...

Damn rain, rain, rain. When will it stop?

(Just thought I'd be the first this time. ???? )

We had the power cut, but not the rain, still in SanSai but the next main road over.

We had some of the strongest winds I've ever experienced in LOS on the Night Safari Road- the tops blew right off some healthy palm trees (and signage was knocked down all over).

Been described by the Samui Times as the worst "cyclone"in CM for 60 years.

It was a summer storm and all over within a short time.

Slow news days in Samui ?
