He's alive! But questions remain as five year old boy found naked in Chiang Rai woods

A five year old boy whose disappearance sparked a large police and neighborhood search in northern Thailand has been found alive in a Chiang Rai orchard. 

 

But while Nong Captain is eating well in hospital and professes to being only a little scared, questions remain about his disappearance from his house in Ban Huay Meng. 

 

He was found two kilometers from his house. He was naked and had some superficial injuries and was exhausted.

He was found by two men called Kittipong Wongchai and See Kaewbunthan who said they knew the boy and took him to a creek to wash mud from his body before he was reunited with his mother. 

 

She had reported him missing on Saturday around 12.30 pm. 

 

Police are still investigating the incident amid fears that Captain was abducted and dumped in the orchard. 

 

Some 100 villagers were mobilized in the search that utilized the help of a fortune teller.

Whew....thank Buddha for fortune tellers.   

The fortune teller is up for making a fortune and mum will never take her eyes off a 5 year old again will she ????  

Rather disturbing story!

The boy is old enough to be able to talk about what happened, hopefully it does not involve any sexual abuse.

Sketchy... I would think the reuniting would have been more of a priority than a scrub in the river !!! Just my thoughts...

traumatic experience. hope it doesn't affect his life later on.

He may have been too filthy to put into someone's vehicle, although you think he could have been wrapped in a blanket or someone's shirt.  That bath in the river may have washed away forensic evidence.

Mum will never take her eyes off the numbers for next month lottery given by the 'fortune teller'...

A rinse and splash in the river isn't all too odd considering the temperatures here have been in the low 40's day after day.
