Another dry day?

My Thai calendar shows me that 20th May is yet another Buddha holiday. Does anyone know if bars will be forbidden to sell alcohol on that day?

Isn't tomorrow a Bank Holiday?  Not sure if that effects alcohol sales, though.

Alcohol sales are not allowed on the 20th.

No it is not. It is only a government holiday.

Okay thanks.  Fortunately I keep a small store of beer in the garden so not au fait with licensing.

Thanks. So much for meeting some friends over from the UK for a drink on that evening on my one night in Bangkok.

An update - Wishbeer has told me they are open and serving on the 20th, and that Buddha Day is the 18th. My calendar shows both days coloured, and I assumed the 20th was an 'extra' day as the 18th falls on the weekend. Maybe alcohol won't be sold on the 18th. I didn't ask as it was the 20th I had something planned.

I've now heard from Stumble Inn that they expect to be open as usual on the 20th but it's likely they will close on the 18th. So, it looks like no drinkies on Saturday during the FA Cup final, folks.
