SATTAHIP:--Five people were arrested at a checkpoint set up in Sattahip to suppress crime and drugs.

20 police officers, sailors and administrators patrolled the seaside area of Moo 1 village and set up a checkpoint that stopped 30 motorbikes and 12 other vehicles. Forty people were drug tested and five tested positive for methamphetamine use.

wow when are they going to clamp down on noisy motorbikes, NO HELMETS, trucks belching fumes from exhausts, ILLEGAL undertaking, the list could go on.......no wing mirrors on motorbikes...illegible rear number plates on bikes.....etc etc....

8% positive for meths...probably the average on Thai roads.  Then add other drugs and alcohol....

Looks like one cop has a rear end checking duty on his mind????

Pee pee tests. Seems like too much infringement on peoples freedom.

the war on drugs have eroded peoples freedom world wide, 56% of American employers drug test..

Yes but you have the freedom to work there or not work there, and isn't it usually for insurance?, or is it a random thing? Opiates in the US are such a terrible thing. Now something like weed is a total infringement on ones freedom.

The military started doing random drug tests in the early 80s it needs to be expanded to all elected govt officials with the same punishment ????

5 out of forty = 12.5%?  Then, as you say, add in booze etc and you have a sizeable percentage at every moment of every day.  Don't even think about the nights.

Had that been done they would have arrested  the drivers and passengers of 30 motorbikes and 12 other vehicles, rather than 5.

Some odd defense of drug addicts, but not surprising I guess.

They got some dangerous dopers off the road.

What if one of them continued and injured someone or you?

Would you still continue the trivial bad mouthing of cops comments??

I imagine the U.S would be the same, and then some !
